re: Disposable Plates

I and my wife do not like using paper , foam , plastic plates for a dawat.
So for small parties we use our china and for big ones we use disposable kind of plates , it will be headache to wash that many plates , cups , and silver.

re: Disposable Plates

Re: Disposable Plates

For small family gatherings, we use regular plates / glasses / cups / spoons etc.

For ANY gatherings over 10 people - we prefer the higher end disposable plates.

For Any Great gatherings - over 50 people - We prefer foam / plastic / the cheaper the better =)

Re: Disposable Plates

its definitely convenient but sometimes not so practical if eating our typical desi dishes (lots of balancing required). not to mention the guilt of the sheer waste it generates :bummer:

Re: Disposable Plates

it makes sense if the dinner is served outdoors (like in picnic or during camping) using them indoors is just height of laziness and comfort. It just doesn't give you that feeling of being at hiome. (you know what I mean)

Re: Disposable Plates

If the foods good no one will really care about the plates

Re: Disposable Plates

we use regular china for us and fine for when we have guests. the kids prefer paper plates cause i demand that they put the dishes away if they use them. My kids are lazy now that they are grown. I myself would prefer nice paper plates even for dinner parties cause guess what I am the dishwasher for large dinner gatherings. I dont like that.

Dishwasher?...:@:

Re: Disposable Plates

I don’t like disposable plates, cutlery etc. In our family we don’t really use them but I have been to a few weddings and events where they have been used.

Even at bigger events we tend to use normal plates, silverware and glasses.

I especially find plastic cutlery hard to use, well not hard to use; I just end up breaking it or food ends up flying across the room:cb:

Re: Disposable Plates

we still use regular dishes just because of dad he doesnt like using disposable stuff

but sumtimes its convinient to use disposable stuff and when the guests r good friends and they know that it is hard for ppl to wash heaps of dishes afterwards but still my dad doesnt let mom use them

Re: Disposable Plates

the styrofoam and plastic ones are good, but u cant heat stuff in them, so they're not too great

the cardboard ones are good for heating stuff, but they're kind of flimsy.. i always use 2 or 3 so my food doesn't fall all over the place

and regular plates.. the best :D and if u serve ur guests in disposable plates,, its just kind of cheap thats all, doesn't look really nice

I do!!! hello!

Re: Disposable Plates

I love 'em and would like to use them at all dinner gatherings in my house but sometimes i cannpt get away with it if the guests r not people im not so familiar with.

If we r having a trumped up evening of dining then we use china, if its a relaxed gathering then we bring out the disposables and chuck it all into a black sack when done - no washing!
