well i had a atheist friend, and we use to have lots of arguments (and quite hot one i should say ) on the existance of any controlling power itself, once during the argument, all i said is,
lets suppose for a minute i agree with you that there is no body controlling this vast universe and it is going as per law of sciences. lets believe, there is no day of judgment, once dead we r gone back to dust... so if i believe in you, i have nothing to loose, but what if iam right? and there is life after death ( which we will only know once we r dead), what if there is day of judgement? what if we will be held liable for our bad-deeds? what if?... [size=3]and result of these kind of what ifs, he is now studying religion, infact a comparitve study on religion... i dont think so he will be out of Islam for too long now...
the whole point is, the moment you asy to other person that he is wrong, EGO element come in action, don't ever do that, if you want others to listen and understand what u say, u have to do the same first.
When i used anger it never worked but when i used the above one, it changed his mind.[/size]
