Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
How can you not ‘believe’ in dishwashers…it’s not like they don’t exist.

Exactly ![]()
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
You ladies would hate to have my mom for a MIL! lol she would freak out at the daily use of our dishwasher ![]()
We only really use our dishwasher for parties. Other than that we never really use it.
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
My mom and MIL never use theirs either ![]()
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
UGGH my MIL is the same as your sister.
She rarely ever uses the dishwasher because she claims
1.) It uses MORE water than just washing the dishes yourself
2.) In the time it takes her to load the dishwasher, she would have already washed all the dishes
I live in her house, so I don’t use the dishwasher because well, it’s HER house.
On days where we have people over and there are more dishes than usual, she WILL use the dishwasher though (thank goodness)!
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
My mother is not into dishwasher, however, when I am visiting she empties it out.
Dishwashers…yay or nay?
I have a whole blog entry dedicated to my mil’s disdain for dishwashers ![]()
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
i dont like it. i think it is more time comsuming and doesnt clean the dishes or saucepan as good as by hand.
in the first week of ramadan, my mum strate dusing the dishwasher after a whole year (she used it last year for a big party) but we soon felt it was as quick as when we do the dishes by hand.
but then again..i love doing the dishes…been my chores ever since i am 8
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
i absolutely love dishwasher but unfortunately in this rented house no space for it, so we would be moving soon as I tend to invite many people and use disposable plates, even for daily use its a big Yay!!!
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
absolutely, I cant believe how its changed my life for the better ! definitely a huge blessing :))))
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
While growing up with 7 siblings I was the eldest and being in middle east we use to do all the household work ourselves. Now I am so use to washing dishes with hands that using the dishwasher just seems a hassle and lot of work.
I also wash dishes while I am cooking and it’s only me and my husband so there is not many dishes any ways. Hubby and me also has a habit to wash any glass/cup/dish/spoon after we use it so we never have piles of dishes. Hopefully this will be inherited by our kids also.
Mostly the dawats that we give around 10-12 families come for that so we use disposable things.
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
There are only two of us too…but the dishes pile up in two days.
I don’t cook every single day. I cook maybe twice or thrice a week. Other times we eat out or mom sends food.
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
I find it too time consuming, loading n unloading it, only use it after dawats/parties.
I don’t mind washing dishes but I don’t dry them, just leave them to dry on the drainer, apparently using a towel to dry them is unhygienic n who can b bothered to dry them anyway. If u wash the dishes with very hot water, they dry within a few minutes.
Can’t beat dishwasher for convenience unload when clean and then fill it up as you use up dishes and run it, can wash with really hot water and do heated dry. Much cleaner in my view.
The issue with many people is that they don’t empty dishwashers and instead use that as a pseudo cabinet to grab plates and cups etc from, so used ones get piled up in the sink.. Or some ppl even wash by hand and then out it in the dishwasher. ![]()
But then again some ppl use ovens as storage too
pack rats usually.
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
I also dont dry dishes they dry themselves. Whats the harm to keep tawa and one karahi in oven however?![]()
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
LOL. We do that!
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
My tawa stays in the oven too ![]()
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
Yep, my mom and MIL did the same bc I don’t think she (my mom) ever used it for cooking in her life.
When I had my own place however, I usedmy oven A LOT, so I had to make space for the pots and pans.
Because if I want to use the oven and have to preheat it etc, I need to take out the stuff in the oven during the duration of use and if there is no space then it needs to sit somewhere.. countertop, table, island. Serving no purpose. I don’t like clutter.
Re: Dishwashers…yay or nay?
I have to keep baking and cooking pots/pans, etc in the oven because we don’t have enough storage space in the kitchen. Yes, it is a pain to take them out and put them back every single time.
