Don't you guys find it annoying to rinse the dishes before washing them? If there is caked-on stuff on the dish, I have to scrub that off before I put it in the washer, which makes me feel like that's most of the work. So I just end up hand-washing the dishes.

normally you don't need to rinse. If the dish is really dirty, a quick rinse will do.

a dishwasher IS a maid actually better coz it needs no bickering.

try doing a pre-rinse im sure there is a 15 minute pre-rinse cycle on all dishwashers, throws water on all your dishes before you do the main wash

I don't think it really gets anything clean. It just sanitizes the dirt on them. Yuck.

Can someone recommend a good one? Nadeem, do all of them have this pre rinse option?

yes the pre-rinse sprays water on the dishes therefore softening the dry hard food remains on the dishes. then when the main hot wash startes it alot easier for the cleaning to take place.

check your dishwasher there are almost alwasy more than 2 buttons. check out what the other buttons do ;)

Which one do u have? Does someone know someone in Pakistan who owns a dishwasher? I'm considering to buy one but I want to make sure I don't end up wasting my money.

In Pakistan , you got to make sure you place the machine in a place that has really good water pressure ... One of my friends placed it in her kitchen but due to water pressure issues , she couldnt use it ... either the bartans wouldnt come out clean or the soapy content wouldnt get washed away properly .. and the biggest hassle .. if the electricity goes during a washing cycle , you are done for !!!

Sorry Waleeja , I mean , then you will be in trouble , coz the cycle wont cancel out itself after the electricity comes ... chances are the dishwasher 's life will be affected if that happens a few times ...

Same is the case with modern washing machines ... my aunt in pakistan was complaining the other day about this issue ..

Hmm.. that's something to consider. I so want to have one :(

BTW I have one of those automatic washing machines, and amidst of all the electricity coming and going game, its working fine alhamdulillah
