Dish Network

I just got our first bill with Adelphia in Los Angeles. We have basic service plus a DVR and. The channels suck. From channels 11 to 50 there’s basically nothing but spanish and korean and paid programming. Anyways I’m looking into Dish Network and wondering if anyone has it. Are you happy with it? Are there any problems with it or with customer service? I really want to leave Adelphia soon. So please someone let me know if you recommend any better options. Thanks.

Re: Dish Network

We used to have Dish Network and it was great. We responded to local ads and they were giving out 3 room equipment & dish for free for a year worth subscription. We had 100 channels plus the local channels cost us $34.99 and then 5 dollars each for the extra two receivers. So, the total cost was around $45 per month.

These days I see they are giving out a DVR with an additional $5 dollar charge per month.

Oh and after a year the equipment is yours!

Re: Dish Network

Wow, that sounds good Ahmadjee. I checked out their website and it looks good. They offer tons of SIRIUS music channels as well. Safia will be happy about having NOGGIN back. I'm just tired of these bills. I just called Verizon today to close our account with them and switched to Vonage. Hopefully it's going to help cut down our monthly expenditure.

Re: Dish Network

Re: Dish Network

Dish Network is the best ** in the WORLD!~**

Re: Dish Network

Thats a lot. How many desi channels do you have?

Re: Dish Network

I have Dish as well, been using it for about 2 years. And like Sheraz I have some desi channels as well as the HBO and Max package. Now that we've been using the DVR I can't imagine life without it :) Pausing and rewinding live TV is awesome.
I will be upgrading the service soon to the HD package with the new ViP622 DVR receiver.

Re: Dish Network

Ditto. With two-room system (both DVR's) and Geo+ARY, the bill tops $100 per month. Ofcourse, if you only get basic american fare with locals, you can get by for about $35/mo.

Re: Dish Network

dish is the bomb! what desi programming does Direct offer these days?
