Dish Network should open up all Pakistani channels at least for a limited time to their Asian subscribers. It would help those that have not subscribed to get updated news.

I know they won't. Such jerks...but I wish !! It would be good for many pakistanis who can't afford cable etc.

They're in the business to make money. If anything, such a catastrophe in Pakistan must've increased their subscriptions.

Why do you expect a professional organization do that? If you are so much interested in watching Pak TV , why not pay from the pocket? Like it or not, this is the best chance for Dish to make money from Pakistanis … dont you think so ?

They have on a few occasions broadcasted free previews, so they should have done this, even though Im still unsure if it would be a good move as those Pakistanis who have dish, do subscribe to them, the majority does not keep dishnewtork without the desi channels.

I am not sure if it is Dish or Prime TV, who insist on getting paid. However, they could have, if they wanted to, offered a 1-2 week free preview. Doesn't cost much, and if the quality of programming is good, can get them a lot of new customers too. Its just good business move. HBO and other movie channels routinely do that.

Bullcrap. There is coverage on the cable channels that you most likely have anyway, like CNN etc. There is coverage in the newspapers and magazines, and a whole lot on the internet.

Even GEO website has information up on their website.

So as far as news information goes, there are plenty of freebees.

Now if ARY is chartering a darn plane to get supplies sent over there and countless journalists are risking their lives by going out there to do this reporting, etc etc - there is monetary cost involved here as well as labor.

I don't think, that in return for all these efforts, a damn 15 dollars for this one month or maybe 30 for the next two months is going to be so hard on your pockets when there are people out there that are dying and going thru the biggest catastrophe Pakistan has ever faced.

I dont even think my stingy family is that stingy.
