Curious to know… which one do you use to wash your dishes? I’m a total dish brush fan, sponges and how bacteria infested they become after a few washes is not just my cup of tea.
For those of you who do use a sponge, how often do you change it?

Dish brush or dish sponge?
I use a brush! I feel sponges get smelly!
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
i prefer good quality harder type of sponge which retains soap for a few dishes at a time…[whenever i don’t use dishwasher]. ![]()
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
after every use, microwave the spunge for 1 minute…this kills the germs as well as helps get rid of any smell.
Dish brush or dish sponge?
^too much work lol…brush is easy ![]()
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
I use both and a dishwasher. My dishwasher is loaded every day. Pots and pans or dishes that aren’t dishwasher friendly (or I don’t want hanging around for the next load) are washed by hand and what I use depends on the item. I change my sponge every fortnight or so, but its not used to frequently. I don’t wait for them to get smelly.
Dish brush or dish sponge?
^ same here. My dishwasher is loaded and run daily. Only pots/pans are hand washed. I have both a brush and sponge, use them both interchangeably, and my sponge is replaced every couple of weeks.

We use a sponge and dishwasher…thinking of using a brush though…![]()
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
Use a dish sponge which is replaced every few other week or later. My cupboard is well stocked with dish sponges and metal scouring pads.
Not used a dishwasher in 12 years, not a fan at all.
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
I use a brush for getting the stuff off of dishes before they go into the dishwasher. Pots and pans are first scrubbed with a brush and then soaped down and cleaned with a sponge.
I change my sponge very often.
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
I use both as well.
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
sponge and scourer and replace them every 2 weeks
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
Sponge and change when it looks worn out - probably every 3 weeks
To the brush users: how do you get your brush to work up soapy suds when washing say, a dinner plate? Only reason I don’t use brushes is because I can’t work up a lather on most things like a flat dish, and if I can’t see the soap on the plate before I wash it off, I don’t believe it’s clean. Teach me a way and I am happy to use brushes as I think they’re more hygienic and cost-friendly too (fewer replacements!)
Re: Dish brush or dish sponge?
