1 - Culture and traditions are just imaginary constructs which we let limit us?

2- Does “Cultural Conformity” provide security or lead to self-annihilation?

obviously they arent imaginary. and limit they do.

if you vaatch DDLJ, you vill see Amreesh Puri unKal wax eloquently on "humhara tehzeeb, humhara kultchar", vith special emphasis on the girl child. please vaaatch.

ooo #2 came in just now!

my answer is, there is no clear yes or no. and once again, i vould like to quote my guru Amreesh Puri from DDLJ on this one, "Jaa puttar apni zindagee jee le!".

^ another one from DDLJ; 'maa, koi andheka anjaana mere khwabo mei atha hai'... lol..

The way you practice culture and mix different cultures in your life depends on you, and i dont think it leads to self annhilation.
As long as culture is not confused with religion.

queer lolz :D

MM sometimes culture clashes with religion tho init?

It depends what aspects of cultural conformity you are talking about. Some would be more serious than others.... if it clashes with religion, as MM pointed out, then it can lead to external security (meaning you're secure/okay from society's pov), but if it clashes with your personal religious beliefs in a large way, even if society is okay with it, i doubt your inner conscience would be.

Re: Discuss…

These limitation are the TOOLs due to which we can differentiate Humans from Animals.

Just imagine, Without Culture and Traditions the Life will be Like Line Art without any Shade and color.

AND… As far as the Imaganary … NOPS… If we are following the Traditions meanz these are implemented… and once U call it implemented… its not more imaganary.

ANd.. JahaaN takk… LIMIT karnay ki baat hay… tou… as I said.. ke.. Social Animal and Conventionla animla maiN bas Limitation ka hit tou farq hay
