They have a office at U of York. I'm guessing they're an average travel agency.
I've never heard of that one, looks like just another travel agency. But I know in Europe every rail system has lower student/youth rates and some airlines do though they usually don't advertise it.
In Canada at least, there's a Travel Cuts agency in most if not all large-sized universities. Depending upon where you want to go, they do offer some pretty good packages actually. For backpackers through Europe, they'll arrange everything down to recommended hostels and your Eurorail passes. For travelling outside of Europe, they're not that great (at least my uni one isn't).
For uni students, before travelling anywhere you should apply for your International Student Card... can give you some decent discounts.
^ highly recommended!
Also, I was just snooping around and found this.. finds discounts available to students/youths/teachers all around the world. The main page of that site looks like it has a lot of good info too. There are a lot of resources online for student travel, just make sure you read the fine print before committing to anything.

ah thanks for that. By the way, Spoon, if you don’t mind my asking - do you know of any websites that give info. regarding hostels based in different countries? Like a website that gives you the option of picking which country, what types of services you want in a hostel, etc etc. Am i making any sense? :konfused: Kindof like a hostel ‘menu’ where you can see what types of hostels are located in which cities, their costs, services, uptodate contact info, etc.
Just thought i’d ask you, no big deal if you don’t know it, thanks anyways in advance. :flower1:
Actually, I did.. but I wound up not going so I deleted the bookmarks ![]()
Are you looking for a specific region? As I recall some of the bigger sites were poor on info but there were regional/national ones that were a lot better. I’ll try digging some up again though
I have traveled a lot with STA travel which comes with nice attractive fares for students.
Traveling dates are pretty tight. But worth it when it comes to fare and someone who is not doing the full time job.
www.sta.com
Normally I used it when I was back in UK. Traveling wide all over Europe was fun and easy with STA. Even back n forth to Canada and US.
One most important thing I would like to suggest if some one is traveling from any of the above or even STA, make sure Travel cut or STA etc, they have a city office or contact in need of emergency or rescheduling your whole trip or your return. Often in their absence you be ready for paying long distance phone bills.
Nadia, Here are some URL link sitting in my favorite folder, some of them are old too but when it comes to finding hostels across continents, I hope it will be close to what you are looking for.
