What is the general discount rates on books in your area?

Here in Karachi it ranges from 15%-40%.

Do you bargain for more discount, while buying books?

books are always on discounted price. these discounted prices are still too high because the original price is way too high...

...books are like elephants.

so what is general discount rates in Canada? Is it different for different genres?

anywhere from 10-75% depending where you buy the books.

if you become member of "Frequent Buyer's Club" of Chapters, you get a discount of up to 20%...if the store is going out of business, the deep discounts of up to 75% kicks in. older stocks or books sold at year-ends can be up to 50% discounted.

it all depends.

The discount rate is the 10 year treasury yield plus twice the rate of inflation.
