I don’t want to take over the OPs thread. We can take this offline, I don’t mind and to answer your question, I think this will explain it better than I will https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bN_4y2hZy9s
I am learning as well so I don’t know all the answers. I was raised Muslim but I always have tons of questions that I think about and reflect upon so I do my own research and attend classes whenever I can or just ask our local imam. He’s younger and pretty chill so he’s more understanding of various questions, like once you put verses into context what they mean and how to go about understanding them.
I’m gonna transcribe part of what the guys said in the video.
“Once they came out publicly in a act of treason and treachery, cooperating with the enemies to either harm the muslims or harm islam were they ever punished”
It’s all good as long as I don’t express my criticism of Islam publicly. I’m supposed to pretend to be something I’m not. How are we going to reform society if we aren’t allowed to criticize the religion responsible for its ill?
The muslims shouldn’t fear criticism if their religion really is divine hence perfect.
The guy is trying to fool his audience by conflating apostasy and treason.
Dude, do you live in a country where sharia is practiced? Did you see the ending of the video?
There is a difference between negative criticizing and asking questions and seeking answers with an open heart.
Again, I want to be mindful of the OP and their topic. And again, I am learning too so I don’t have all the answers. If you genuinely want to seek then Allah will guide you, I’m sure of this.
Regardless of what many strong believers tell you, (first) cousin marriages do have an influence on the health of the child. The stats clearly suggest that about eastern countries, and I don´t see a reason to oppose that. If a religion allows a practice, or even if something was practised by the leaders or the big personalities of a religion, that doesn´t make it compulsory.
As for the position, I can´t advise much. I know of a position which is most safe, most practised and one that my cousin didn´t find out about either. You figure it out!
This still holds tight the top position mind you (pun intended!)…
