Moustapha Akkad and his daugther was killed. It was one of my most favourite movies growing up. His daughter was also killed.
He founded Trancas in 1977, a year after directing “The Message,” starring Anthony Quinn, a movie about the history of Islam. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for its musical score.
Akkad said he did the film because he felt it was his duty as a Muslim in America to teach the West about Islam. “I thought I should tell the story that will bring this bridge,” he told the newspaper.
Re: Director of "The Message" killed in Jordan bombings
CNN says he was famous for producing Halloween horror flicks?!?!?
Ah well. More innocent people die on the altar of rampant terrorism.
What I found intriguing is that today there was a wedding in the same hotel that was bombed and where people had died. The groom, in an interview with CNN, said "after death, the next day there is joy", with scenes of music and dancing in the background. Hmmm... I can see how life tends to go on, as it should.. but singing and dancing on the very next day at the exact place where people died ... Eh....???
