Direction of bed & Kaaba

Is it forbidden in Islam to let your feet face towards Kaaba when you sleep?
This concept is prevalent in our culture, but I’d like to know if it is mentioned somewhere in Quran or Hadith.

Re: Direction of bed & Kaaba

We get buried with our heads facing towards Kaaba....not feet facing towards Kaaba.

Makes sence why we shouldn't sleep with feet facing towards Kaaba - but don't have Islamic evidence on this. Do a google search on this topic. :)

Re: Direction of bed & Kaaba

When sahaba used to sit and pray and listen to lectures in the masjid....if they wanted to rest the would just lean back and lay down if they needed to. That would make their feet go towards Kaaba. There is nothing wrong with it and I see it happening in my masjid all the time.
However just as a sign of respect, in most cases when people are sleeping in the masjid, they dont face legs towards the Kaaba.

So if you can help it ..great, otherwise there is no hard and fast rule or impending doom on those that sleep with their feet towards the Kaaba.

Re: Direction of bed & Kaaba

I think it might be a Pakistani thing. In our hotel room in Mecca the beds were placed so that when you slept your feet were facing the Kaaba, so the locals obviously had no problems with that. Also saw many people just relaxing in the Masjid Al haram with feet facing the Kaaba.

These trivial issues do not matter. In fact, its laughable.
