Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

**Before some of you going to kill me .. lets face it, it’s us who first draw the depictions of Prophet (PBUH):
**

  1. The Persian tradition of visual depictions of Muhammad begins around 1300 (Ilkhanid period). The earliest extant Persian manuscript representation of Muhammad is found in the Marzubannama manuscript, dating to 1299. The Ilkhanid MS Arab 161 of 1307/8 contains 25 illustrations of Al-Biruni’s The Remaining Signs of Past Centuries, of which five include depictions Muhammad, including the two concluding images, the largest and most accomplished in the manuscript, which emphasize the relation of Muhammad and Ali according to Shiite doctrine. Depictions of Muhammad remain common in Timurid Persian and Ottoman art throughout the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries. Perhaps the most elaborate cycle of illustrations of Muhammad’s life is the late 16th century copy of the 14th century biography Siyer-i Nebi produced by order of Murat III.

  2. The Remaining Signs of Past Centuries (Arabic: کتاب الآثار الباقية عن القرون الخالية ‎ Kitāb al-āthār al-bāqiyyah `an al-qurūn al-khāliyyah, also known as Chronology of Ancient Nations or Vestiges of the Past, after the translation published by Eduard Sachau in 1879) by Abū Rayhān al-Bīrūnī is a comparative study of calendars of different cultures and civilizations, interlaced with mathematical, astronomical, and historical information, exploring the customs and religions of different peoples. **Completed in AD 1000 **(AH 390/1), it is the first major work of Al-Biruni’s, compiled in Gorgan, at the court of Qabus, when he was in his late twenties.

  3. The Siyer-i Nebi is a Turkish epic about the life of Muhammad, completed around 1388, written by Mustafa son of Yusuf of Erzurum, a Mevlevi dervish on the commission of Sultan Berkuk, the Mamluk ruler in Cairo. The text is based on an Arabic work by Vakidi.

etc..etc..

These depictions all done by Muslims over the last 1000 years…

If any of you ever visited US Supreme Court building.. .

US Supreme Court Building in Washington DC has the statue of Prophet (PBUH). The North Wall Frieze shows lawgivers from the middle ages on and includes representations of Justinian, Muhammad, Charlemagne, John of England, Louis IX of France, Hugo Grotius, Sir William Blackstone, John Marshall, and Napoleon.

Countless court houses all around Europe have statue of Prophet (PBUH) ..

People .. people.. this madness has to be stop some where.. and some freaking mullahs have to grow some balls and clear the fine line between blasphemy !

Re: Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

Note: there is a difference between a portrait and a caricature.

:smack:

i don't wanna posts stuff .. but historically Persia/Ottoman.. do a lot of portrait & caricature stuff..

NOOOOOOOOOOO

lets burn frizen profile page down.....

Firenze, first of all, get chuloo bhar paani and get drowned in it.

2ndly , you dont seem to find any difference between the intentions of those muslims who tried to depict a person whom they believed was the most beloved person to Allah and greatest of all humanity and the intentions of these cheapsters who are only and only doing it to incite muslims, zaleel them and make fun of their beliefs? how sad is that tsk tsk. you cannot even make out the diff by having a look at what the cheapsters have depicted him as … tsk tsk tsk

3rdly who told you or confirmed to you that ppl you mentioned in your post did a great job? Mohammed PBUH never allowed anyone to make his potrait or paint his pic in his life. i m sure you wont even know the reason behind it. dont expect from me i will start explaining you the reason. you already seem to be expert in googling things.

4thly , what you are asking the mullahs in the highlighted sentence, may be you need that more.

Re: Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

Just one thing to be noted down. There is or can say was also a fact in different Islamic sect that you cant make picture of yourself with many reasons from Quran. I am not sure but I think it was also a fact in Wahabi sect.

Re: Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

firenze uncle def needs to have a look at what has been drawn on facebook by those artisans

Re: Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

Lets not forget that the drawings posted on the facebook group depicted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) very very badly. The pictures there were disgusting.

oki.. now i can be declared non-muslim .. whatever.. i don't need a certificate from you..

secondly .... i show you the history of your forefathers.. .. and still you have a argument left.. .take your head out of sand. .and smell the coffee...

if the depicitions of Prophet (PBUH) was drawn 1000 years earlier by the so-called mighiest Muslims empires of that time (abbas, ... .Ottoman) << were they wrong or less muslim like you?

think with logic instead of emotions. .and please don't blow yourself up.. i wanna live and drink more wine..

ps. all of you who have different opinion.. go deny my OP with arguments and sources instead of general bashing.. huh..

Re: Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

^ You didn't respond to his argument about the intention of people currently making cartoons of Prophet. They are abusing and mocking him, with the only intention to insult and ridicule Muslims all over the world.
How can you overlook the difference in intention between Ottomans and Muslim-haters like Hirsi churrail?

Good so at least we are landed somewhere, now stick to it. you are saying:

That Ottomans did right when they draw Prophet (PBUH) pictures because their intentions were right.

So if Non-Muslim draw the picture today with right intentions it will fine? ..

Thank you that's all i wanna know !

I once posted something similar on GS about same topic and people here "demanded" the picture to be deleted. Present day muslims, majority of em will never tolerate anything like that

Yeh Present Day Muslims… :hehe:

this thread is making me so angry. I feel like I need to destroy something... some property, someone's car... or maybe a forum.

I think I'm going to go burn down the Household Affairs and Cuisine forum. who's with me. bring your own lighters. I'm not sharing mine.

Re: Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

destroying things won't do you any good. sit down and drink some cold water.

yeh man.. lets bring down the cuisine forum.. all in all these auntis know nothing regarding cooking..

burn burn burn ...

i am not declaring you non muslim. i m no one to do so. i do not even know you. but based on your posts here, if someone tells me that you are one, i may believe him.

history of forefathers... huh?? do you know history of forefathers of all Prophets? okay leave all prophets and talk about Muhammed PBUH. You know they would worship idols. does it mean that Muhammed PBUH should have also followed them since that was what his forefathers were doing?

your OP is not proving anything. it doesnt prove that drawing his pics was/is right.

what civilization you are from? Don't you take you lineage to Mugal's, Persian's ... Abbasi, Ottoman's ..etc.. ?

The OP said Muslims **THE MUSLIMS **draw depictions of Prophet (PBUH) in the mightiest Khilaafat's Muslim ever reache The Ottomans, were they wrong? why no body cry at that time, isn't their any Muslim Scholars/Mullahs exist at that time?

What is so hard for you to comprehend? huh.. MY OP is challenging Muslims like you who just can't accept that it was done by Muslims first then Non-Muslims, yes you can say non-muslim intentions are wrong. .but lets leave this for some other time..

now go one by one my OP points and deny... offcourse with source not just emotions...

come again..

Re: Dipictions of Prophet (PBUH)

the people who drew the pics a 1000 years ago were wrong
and so are the people today!
you can't label ALL muslims the same as the ones who made depictions a 1000 years ago.
