I’m going to have some friends over (a couple & their 2 kids… toddler and baby)
No idea what to make for dinner!! I’ve had them over a bunch of times and have made pizza, desi-Chinese inspired menu, typical desi menu… i’m lost as to what to make this time.
I was thinking of doing a whole roast chicken but with tandoori masala. Usually i mix softened butter, fresh thyme, rosemary and garlic and rub it under the chicken skin and roast to whatever time. It turns out super-juicy and the skin is crispy and delicious. If i used the same method but mixed the butter with tandoori masala + ginger garlic…would i get good results? Has anyone tried that? If i do go this route.. what else should i serve with it?
If u have any other menu ideas… would love to see them.
Roast chicken with tandoori masala sounds yum! For sides there are many options- you can have baked potatoes, baked pumpkin wedges, baked veges, salad, coleslaw, pasta salad, warm rolls, zeera rice/steamed rice.
I do a roasted chicken with garlic and chili seasoning (could totally do the same with tandoori masala). Add some chicken stock into the pot along with the chicken, marinate the vegetables (brocolli, potatoes, carrots etc) and put them around the chicken as well. It all cooks down at the same time. The chicken turns out beautiful and juicy while the veggies absorb some of the juices and get brilliant flavor as well. I glaze my chicken with a lemon+honey+soy sauce mix as well :)
I would show pictures but my uploader here is not working :/
Thanks for the ideas, guys. Htm - ur chicken recipe sounds delicious. I'm too afraid to try the roast tandoori chicken recipe... but i'm soo tempted lol
I'm thinking of doing mutton korma, zeera rice, seekh kabab, whole roast tandoori chicken w/sides OR chicken 65ish type dish. Homemade naan/raita/salad.
