Dill, Dya, Dehleez

It is a very good novel, now made into a drama …

I have not seen any episode but I fear that they would mess-up the whole story as the story and charachtarization is too strong for any director to handle …

The only directors who can do justice with this story are

Sahira Kazmi and Shoab mansoor

Anyways I hope they dont make another crapy drama out of my one of the favorite novels :frowning:

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Does any one know if the novel is available in english and who is it by.

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

It is an urdu novel written by Ms Rifat Siraj. I doubt that any translation is available :)

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Thanks for letting me know

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

I have read this novel but forgot which one it is. Is it the one with roshi and bari where roshi's mom has passed away. And who are the actors in the drama?

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Thank God ! Some here reads urdu :k:

I am very happy to know that you have read it

Yessss ! It is the same novel ! Roshi and Baari :k:

Roshi’s mother (Nazneen) was passed away long time ago, and story begin’s with Maheen s (Naznee’ sister)’ visit to haveli.

To be honest I had no expectation with drama, so when I saw the grlimpse of first episode I had no regrets

Roshi’ father was the main male figure in this novel, In this drama it is played by FArhan Aagha, who is not suitable choice for this character at all

That role is quite difficult and best choice whould have been Nouman Aijaz or Mehmood Aslam. The guy had red eyes due to lack of sleep ( a very important part of character ) which is completely ignored in this drama.

I dont think drama is going anyway near the novel, another loose effort :nook:

It is directed by Yasir Nawaz (the singer ) Although he is not that bad , but the story is too strong for his caliber.

Drama is on Hum tv friday 8 pm (PST)

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Yeah, my mom said she had read the novel and was excited abt this new series. I saw the promos and it looks like a mega production done very well.

Cody, this director Yasir Nawaz is the actor turned director, the singer was Yasir Akhtar and his drama shot in some foreign country is also being aired on HumTV these days. Yasir Nawaz is a much better director and i think he'll do a good job with it. I hope :D He and his wife Nida Pasha were our neighbors until few months ago.

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

well it was a very well written novel and was published in khwateen digest for years and i remember I would impatiently wait to read the next episodes.

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

I think I remember the story too! The father has some issues and he keeps on remembering his wife who he has hurt somehow in the past. At the end, we find out that his wife lives in a different haveli and not many people know about it (??) Or maybe I'm mixing up too many stories :)

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

:smack:

Yup right i mixed them up, Yasir Akhtar is a singer but he made tv plays, one was whirlpool something . Yasir Nawaz is an actor cum director :k: thanks for clarifiation. But fact remains the same , the novel is too difficult for any of them to make a good drama :frowning:

Waisay Haris bhai tum barey high profile bandey ho

Rukhsar bibi, Neera :k: yup same novel , me too :clown:

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

This is what actuall happens. Roshi thinks that her mom is dead but actually when her mom was younger her family thought that she was involved with her devar. So, her husband divorced her and she married her devar and lives in a different city and roshi and some other think that she is dead.
Oops… I spoiled it for those watching the drama! :smack:

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

^ you better edit it out . No need to spoil the story :)

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Oh gotchya!! I remember reading it in bits n pieces since it was a long running novel and I get bored from those. I think I read the end just to find out what the heck happened :D

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

I think i should watch that drama :hmmm:

the guy doing Baari is fine and there is Moamar Rana as Taimoor Ali khan

The OST is quite melodious :k:

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

which channer is this drama comging on?

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Hum TV

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

^^Hum tv never heard of that. It must be playing in pakistan then not in the US....?

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Oh I remember reading it too. :hula:
Neera you have a great memory.
With all those different novels I would not have remembered
which one it was just by the name.

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Yep Neera only in Pak not in the US/UK.
Hum TV is a channel started by Sultana Siddique who produces and directs quite a few plays. The channel was launched in 2005.

Re: Dill, Dya, Dehleez

Cody yaar, i was planning to watch it , caught the 1st episode and missed the 2-4 i think. Today'd be the 5th i guess?
I think I'll watch tday and PM you for a recap of the missed ones :D

and yeah, the soundrack is cool! Sung by 'Lala' Irfan Kyani Haidiqas bro. I never knew he could sing too. And he did a good job.
