I made this comment in an earlier thread based on my sister’s experience who has the same personal restrictions (floor-length and **with **sleeves), black-tie does not mean dresses only - you can wear a really nice pantsuit (but stay away from corporate business suits - that looks like you’re coming from the office). I feel like I cn speak with some expertise because I’m the one who always takes her shopping and I generally select her clothes for these events.
In her closet for black-tie events are the following items:
- Black wide-legged (straight) satin pants
looks sort of like this - but nicer:
Designer Trousers & Shorts - Wide Leg Satin Trouser - Amanda Wakeley Online Shop
- Black chiffon lined floor length skirt
- Black taffeta skirt (it has this really cute train)
- She blackberried the picture for my input - so the picture of the skirt isn’t very clear.
The bottoms are paired with silk or chiffon blouses and tops (black with silver sequins, turquoise chiffon, grey taffeta, hunter green jacket-style blouse), and depending on the weather, she adds a really nice wrap. I always pick out elegant accessories (shoes and jewelry) and voila, the outfit is complete!
Evening attire does not need to be a strapless/sleeveless dress or a cocktail length dress - there are many options that are modest, but look contemporary, elegant and appropriate for these functions.
Here is an example of a skirt (that is timeless and will allow you to get a lot of wear out of it):

For tops - a blouse that wears like a jacket such as these wil cover your tummy:

If you want a more streamlined/tailored look - here are some other options - but I think the A-line cut above is more appropriate since you’re expecting and will be more flattering on the pregnant belly:

My sister was pregnant when she bought the satin pants - she bought one size up and had it altered to her regular size after she finished having all of her babies.
My suggestions are based on the assumption that you are not too far along and are not very big in your pregancy - these may not work in the later stages of your pregnancy.
Good luck!
