Digital Voice Recorders

I’m thinking of buying the Panasonic Voice Studio…

Do I need to look for anything else other than the VAS (voice activated system) feature and adequate memory/time feature?

Requirement is to be able to record field study conversations in my research and also my own ideas and thoughts while I travel / commute.

errr.... thengya very much.

Re: Digital Voice Recorders

I have never used digi voice recorders myself... but my father does. He actually has a few... and I believe he liked the one he bought last.. it was Olympus I think.

Some others had a problem in that their advertised recording time would factor in playback at slower speed, and would severely deteriorate the quality of the sound. So, they will roughly be at 50% of their ad rec time to function efficiently. Can't remember any other thing about them.

Re: Digital Voice Recorders

not much experience using dvr'z but go for this one

Sony ICD-ST25 Digital Voice Recorder
--or--
Olympus VN 240PC or VN-480 - digital voice recorder

according to your budget.

I have creative Muvo TX fm 512mb mp3 player which has a voice recorder which is good for classes only, not gonna advice that.

Re: Digital Voice Recorders

I have sony ICD and with voice quality and other features I am happy but the only thing I miss is when you transfer it to PC you can not see the time when it was recorded, which losses the whole point of VOR.
