Digital Camera Question

i have recently bought a digital camera but every time i take a picture the size is quite large (i.e. 1600 X 1200) - Can someone tell me how to make it smaller so I can upload it onto a website?

Do you have to adjust the camera or adjust the size when you’ve uploaded it? thanks

You can do either, there's ussually a setting in the camera menu that allows you to change resolution or you can go the preferred route and take snaps at high resolution then resize and save as a jpeg etc file for uploading and keep the original high resolution file on your PC hard drive.

If you choose the recommended image-edit option over the in-camera lower resolution shooting option, the very versatile (and free) Irfanview could be a prefect choice.

If u’re using Windows XP, you can use XP Powertoys that allows you to right-click on the image icon to resize. It’s fast and easy. And it is free too.

Thanks - its all sorted now.

But seeing i only bought it yesterday - the Batteries have gone! Do they usually last so short?

I'm assuming these were AA alkalines..

If you were using flash and have a large bright LCD then yes.. it's not uncommon to lose them fast.. which is why rechargeables come highly recommended.

get rechargable... will last you longer too... or else you will waste money on batteries like you used to on camera film!

thanks all - while normally it is known that Disposable Batteries last longer than rechargeble ones - it's the other way around with digital cameras.
