What do people here think of the Indian Alahabad court order to ASI (Archealogical Survey of India) to excavate to find out i fthere’s an old temple underneath? If such structure is found will the Hindu claims to rebuild their holy site (Lord Rama’s place of birth) be acceptable to the Muslims? Any precedence?
I think both structures should be demolished and a gurdwara or a buddhist temple be placed there.

I think Babri masjid should not have been destroyed coz it was a historical treasure it is no different from Talibs demolishing bhuddas statues. And second since the mosque is gone and cannot be replaced evidence must be provided that backs hindu claim. Excavation must be carried out by some third party (none Indian) and if what hindus claim is true then they can have the place.

I doubt in what reverse order the present generation of Muslims reads the Indian history. They say that Muslims were winning Hindus for 1000 years.
Let me make something very clear that starting from 12th century the Muslim invaders killed only Muslim rulers in India and most of the time Muslim rulers killed their own father or brothers to capture power.

Arceological survey is a decent idea, but only if carried out by neutral,s obviously a BJP funded one will say there was a brilant temple there-even if there wasnt.

I'm concerned about the transparency of the dig. It should be carried out by a foreign organisation, rather than Indian archeologists who could be blackmailed by thugs with threats against them or their families. The Gujarat riots demonstrated that, India's police are unwilling to protect the innocent from hate-mongering bigots.
At least foreign archeologists would not have to fear for their families.
