Re: Different Rasams on wedding
in some families now a days when bride comes home us ke car se utarney ke baad pani dala jata hai zameen pey qadam rakhney se pehley ye konsi rasam hai ?? ![]()
Re: Different Rasams on wedding
Ahh, I see. In our culture, the groom does attend, albeit briefly. At the beginning of the mehndi, the bride's older brother (or male cousin) must escort the groom to where the bride is sitting. To begin the function, the bride closes her right hand and, jokingly, does not allow the groom to apply henna to her hand unless he presents her with some sort of gift (usually jewellery or other small items) or if the groom can open her hand by force. After this is done, the groom leaves as the mehndi is considered a women’s party for the most part.
Ungli Pakri or finger holding ritual is actually performed by the sisters of bride. One sister holds the finger of groom and apply Mehndi.... and then asked naig(money)... groom will negotiate the demanded money and after paying naig... she will release his finger....

Re: Different Rasams on wedding
This is the custom in Sindhi weddings where the bride and groom are made to sit opposite each other. Then relatives of bride and groom come and hold heads of the couple and gently move their heads to touch each other. symbolic aasheerbad and razamandi.
^ That sounds so cute! :)
