Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Here's a couple of different looks i created on different occasions:

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Is your hair naturally orange :(

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

my hair is not orange, u may need to check ur PC's colour settings as my hair is a different shade in each of the pics as i try out different looks now and again - it's usually shades of warm light brown / golden brown...

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

sanam what do u apply to ur lower lash line..i am not really sure what u call it..i love ur look in the last picture..such a pretty shade for ur lips and i like the eye make up as well

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Someone told me abt that, i’m deff ognna look into it.. after semesters over :halo:

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

nice makeup job Sanam and you shalwars are so pretty.:)
what procedure do you use for putting on foundation, do you put lotion on first or straight foundation and then powder? I usually don't put foundation on but I bought a bottle of it today and i'm just wondering what y'all do.

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Thanx Aaana for d compliment - i tend to use either a pencil or eyeshadow on a grey/steel colour which i apply on lower lash line, i then smudge it wid a cotton bud/finger to make it look more subtle for daywear or leave it as it is for a sharper/defined look for evening wear. The lippy is Elizabeth Arden's shade of Dare.

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Thanx for d comps Indopak - i tend to use a light moisturiser first, preferably non-fragranced. I allow that to sink into the skin for at least a couple of minutes and then i dab the foundation on face and blend with either fingers or foundation brush - although in winter/cold weather it is best to use your fingers to apply foundation as skin tends to be more drier. I then use a light dusting of a natural coloured face powder to set the foundation in place. Ive noticed if u use a moisturiser the foundation is most likely to stay in place.

Hope that helps x

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

sanam:
u r sooooooooooooooooo pretty

mashallah

:)

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

hi thanks for the tips... foundation felt too thick on my face before and i hated how it felt on my skin but i think the lotion will help in making my skin feel a little better :). Do you use any specific face lotion or does any lotion work?

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Indopak> I quite like d Oil of Olay range as it's suitable for sensitive skin - also like BOOTS own range of moisturiser / creams as they too are light and help makeup last longer.

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Hi Sanam, you're foundation looks really natural, what brand do u use?

secondly i find that when i use foundation and have my photo taken, my face looks quite "ashy" but in natural light the colour looks fine, what am i doing wrong? please reply as this is doing my head in!

Re: Different makeup for different occasions

Hi Brummiebird> I tend to use various types of foundations - i think the trick is in how u apply the foundation itself and also in your skin type... u say that ur foto tends to look ashy toned in pics but is fine in natral light - could be that ur not using the right type/shade of foundation... i would b able to advise u more if i culd see ur pic or if i see u... try to choose ur foundation yourself, dont let d counter-girls at the store talk u into buying something dat is not suited to ur skin type/colour.... ive noticed that they tend to always advise asian girls to go for very light-weight natural foundations but in brown/warmer shades than their own skin which makes the face look streaky.

Hope that helps - feel free to pm me if u want x
