There must be a difference between FOB/Freshies to BBCDs

I say this because other than hearing them speak I can spot the difference in their attitude, body language, the way they walk and how they look.

It is impossible to ignore the behaviour of tourists for example ... I was dressed completely in desi clothes and I was in Lahore at the time a man who was selling kebabs called me over and asked where I was from ... I asked him how he knew I wasn't from Pakistan and he said he could tell because Pakistanis don't walk like I do.

When speaking more closely to FOBs on the whole (not all of them) but on the whole and I have lots of friends who are on either side are quite different in their mannerism and interests, but more on mannerisms ... When a lot of us go to the restaurant for a meal the FOBs all sit together and the other end up sitting together ... the FOBs will choose to speak in Urdu where they can.

It is a weird one ... although we can't define what specific feature it is about them that makes them different from us BBCDs, our guess is probably going to be 80-90% on who is who and all we have to do is look at them standing in a line.

^ You know that happens to me too in Karachi, i walk in a normal shalwar kameez just like every other girl there and keep completely silent but ALL the shop keepers know im from abroad:S some can even guess im from england!!! I guess this is about fobby guys though.

SO i guess there must be subtle differences in mannerisms which the trained eye can see?

YES! in Pakistan the shop guys always know I'm not from Pakistan so they raise their prices just for me lol

ABCD and FOB girls seem to have a lot NOT IN COMMON…but guys are similar :hmmm:

FOB guys are often more intense and forward when pursuing girls or expressing their interest.

FOB guys sometimes have mannerisms and behaviors that seem effeminate to a Western eye.

FOB guys will be "creative" when trying to overcome an obstacle, and will not always go by the book.

FOB guys seem more "mature." They act like grown ups and have adult discussions.

FOB guys are more likely to have tight pants, greased back hair, and sunglasses in the evening.

I might be wrong, but I think some of the FOB guys lag behind in social and communication skills when it comes to dealing with the westerners. It cant be just the language barrier because even the fluent speakers lack a certain self confidence in the outside world. I wish they wouldn't because I have seen many other foreigners with poor english skills who dont have any hang ups about it. Maybe its a pakistani thing....
