Shah Rukh Khan was detained for about 90 minutes in some airport in US, to which the Indians launched a strong protest and the Americans have apologized to them.
On the other hand we have Pakistan whose thousand of people have been killed (through drone attacks and they have disregarded the parliamentary resolutions for cessation of drone attacks). Soldiers have also been killed a couple of times, but the Americans have refused to apologize for those incidents.
What does this tell us about Indian government vis a vis Pakistan?
The Indians brimming with confidence now get things done as they want even from super powers, but Pakistan on the other hand just needs a couple of meetings with American officials to forgive everything.

Yeah seriously I was thinking the same thing. They killed so many pakistanis & did not even apologize & they apologized to india just because shahrukh khan had some problems on US airport

Amreeka does not respect any laws or protocols - What they did to Indian defense minister when he was on official visit to US can be found on the net, few other govt. officials also went through the same "red capet treatment". They did the same to several countries including venezuela and one of their ministers. SRK does not count nor the amerikans know who he is.

Forget about india, look at Iran when it comes to self respect. I dont agree with that unnecessary punga that Iran takes with USA sometimes, but over all, they dont let go of the self respect man.

Picture is bigger than that , India does get more economic dole outs than Pakistan , in fact India is one of the biggest recipient of foreign aid.
The difference is India has good relations with US and we do not , Pakistanis hate US and Indian adore US.
India plays its lobbying and diplomatic card very well but Pakistan does not.
India is not a threat to US interests but Pakistan is.
India did not create Taliban headache for US but Pakistan did.
Why is it so , I will leave the question to be answered for some other time.

OK I will read.. but that still does not conclude that our self esteem (or the lack of it) is not questonable
It is , although Pakistan may be learning , they have sent a strong message today which was on NPR this morning wherein Pakistani parliament has some tough terms for opening up supply routes to Afghanistan.
If US will give in to that or not that has to be seen.
Pakistanis try to be tough and strong but fail and I have given some reasons for that failure.

I think he was strip searched too like George Fernandes twice, but Abdul Kalam was not on official vist with protocol but GF was. The state dept. never apologised.

What international law are you talking about? They have right to detain anyone including SRK on arrival if they are not satisfied unless someone is on official trip.
