Difference between Pakistani and Indian cooking?

Re: Difference between Pakistani and Indian cooking?

Read again where have I said specifically “SMELLY”. Probably saying that all have same smell doesn’t mean so anywhere in dennotative sense, connotations can be many.

Re: Difference between Pakistani and Indian cooking?

Its not said that Indian food is smelly and lacking richness. and similar smell thing has been pointed out by other posters too. And afayyiz didnt include hyderabadi in the list.

Re: Difference between Pakistani and Indian cooking?

^ it doesn’t matter if Hyderabadi was included or not. Indian cooking is so rich and varied, and encompasses many different styles, depending on what part of the country you’re in. I don’t think it’s right to lump it all as tasting the exact same and having a particular “smell”.

I stopped going to Bar.B.Q Tonight because of their horrible service .. :frowning: .. Seems like they don’t treat you well if you go there all by yourself !!! … You have to have a huge family with you to attract waiters attentions. Once I went there and stood at the door for at least 15 minutes and not a single waiter bother to ask me how many people, or show me the place where to sit! I left the restaurant the very moment and never went back.

Though i loved their chargha and chana masala. Can’t deny that it was one of the best one.

I haven’t heard about karachi kitchen in my 3 years of stay in Canada :frowning: .. Will try it out (where is it btw ?)

Zauq: its average .. been there only once and never tried to go there again

I have never been to TT at albion, added to my list. will try it out.

Could you try to figure out that thorncliffe shop  Please!

Re: Difference between Pakistani and Indian cooking?

lol ok, I’ll ask my dad where it is. He used to work in the area a few years back, so we went there a couple times. Haven’t been there in recent years.

karachi kitchen is in mississauga.

You know the thing is, as with any other food place, these recommendations too can sometimes be a hit or miss. Like depending on how busy the place is when you visit, the number of staff they have available at the time, or the master chef not being available etc.

Re: Difference between Pakistani and Indian cooking?

This had already happened in the last 1000 years esp when Pathans ruled the area of UP in the 18th century. That resulted in Indianisation of Central and Afghan dishes took place.
