Difference between mohair and angora

I know one comes from a rabbit and the other doesn’t and so on but in terms of wearing them do they feel different?

I know angora is v.soft and fluffy.. is mohair more fuzzy and therefore itchy?

Re: Difference between mohair and angora

mohair is not as soft as angora but is light and soft compared to other wool
unless used gently, angora sheds more, mohair pills.
I prefer cashmere over both, lighter, warmer, and does not shed or itch like angora or mohair (yes they both itch more)

Re: Difference between mohair and angora

i feel like cashmere itches more? ^

Re: Difference between mohair and angora

I get itchy very easily and I have a few 100% cashmere cardigans in different styles and they are extremely soft and not at all itchy. Lol.. whenever anyone brushes against them at work they comment on how soft the fabric is. I have them mostly because I get very cold and they are far warmer than any other wool I've tried, given how lightweight they are as well.

Mohair and Angora just leave hairs everywhere. Dislike!

Re: Difference between mohair and angora

Hmmm.. I have some pure angora and nothing seems to come close to how warm and fluffy it is.. does shed all over the place tho.. I want to get a 100% angora jumper made but it’s ridiculously expensive and mohair is like 1/3 the cost.. Am wondering if pure mohair itches tho as no point in spending so much (even tho it’s far less expensive) on something that feels all prickly to wear.. I get itchy easily as well and find it really irritating if something doesn’t ‘feel’ right..

How crazy do the angora rabbits look
