Have you guys ever noticed a difference in regards to treatment or extra gifting/effort for the daughter-in-law who is non-family vs. the daughter-in-law that is from the family?
I keep hearing people saying that DILs which are outside of the family usually get a little extra treatment since the in-laws have to make “good impressions” and such. Any truth to this?

Nt really. I have seen dil from family outside family treatef bad. It depends on the family.

Yes, but I mean during the wedding planning and pre-wedding activities such as 'lena-delana' etc.

I think everyone's experience is kind of different. I've heard stories most about how outside daughter-in-laws are treated worse, to tell you the truth. I think that's why lots of families are reluctant to send their daughters out. As for "lena-delana", In my case, my MIL gave all her DILs the exact same mahr and joras, whether they were in or out from the family.
