Are you supposed to? I don’t know if he’s getting me anything, but I don’t want to feel bad if he does end up getting me a special gift and I just sit there empty handed.. Did you guys get a special wedding gift or give him one?

i forgot to add i am thinking of giving him one of these things :
new laptop - ( which i think is pointless as my laptop is working perfectly fine and we can share... ) as his laptop is slowly dying .. plus he has a work laptop!
Any of my savings left if anything in cheque form- this will mean a lot as i spend spend spend , saving has been so hard for me :(
designer sunglasses for the honeymoon - as i damaged his last pair ( sat on them with a big thud didn't know they were under my caridgan!)
xbox/ play station + some games ( he hasnt bought any consoles for 3 yrs !)
Rolex - but buying a decent rolex that he would like would cost £3000 upwards and to be honest i can't afford that yet due to wedding expenses! plus i thought i'd get the rolex for his 30th birthday!!
Things like aftershaves he has a huge collection off so i have never bought him one!
I have also gotten him 2 rings - 1 engagement ring in platinum and diamond .. i did not thing about a wedding ring at this point doh! and a silver wedding band purely for our civil marriage which my fiance will only wear on the honeymoon and holidays as his engagement ring is just amazingly designed and cost alot of money! ( the silver band was around £150 )
i think upon writing this post i have decided to get him designer shades!

that's a lot of pricey stuff. :0 I don't think I can afford anything like that for now.. I'm still a student. But I really need to figure out what the perfect wife to husband wedding gift would be.. designer shades sounds cute especially since you broke his pair lol :P. What do you think of a really nice cologne? or is that too cliche? :(

I wanted to get him a small lap-top too…but I dnt know..the dude always does something to the electronic stuff…good at losing gadgets…
I know he likes colognes..but I don’t like colognes..am very sensitive to them 
I already gave him a watch for his B’day…so dnt want to get him another one…

my mom is buying my fiance a watch as he can only wear a silver wedding band so she wanted him to get something else as a present.
Hence, I am barely left with any options. I get him colognes and clothes allll the time... for valentines day, b-day e.t.c so I wanna get him something different...
Mayb a bracelet??? He lovesss bracelets and wears them all the time and takes care of them too... or mayb a belt? because he has only 1 belt and he could use it for a long time.. but if i get him something to wear like that.. then his brothers will borrow it and he cant even say no. tht is wht happens to all the gifts I give him..

I had this same issue with my fiance, now my husband!!! As a girl, I always want to get him something different - I can't keep giving the guy a tie, it's boring! But if not a tie, then what?? There are far less options with men, but here is what I've realized. Just like you can't give a girl enough jewelery or handbags, you cannot give a guy enough ties, scarves, belts, cufflinks, watches, or colognes! If you know he wants a new toy, then yeah great, get it for him, but if you can't think of what to give him then you're not gonna go wrong with a tie. If you want to spend a bit more, go for a watch or cufflinks, and don't even think about giving him the same stuff over and over.
For a wedding present I got my hubby a watch and he gave me a stunning rose gold bangle.

I am planning to give him a ring and something customized on my own, like a poem or maybe a picture album with all our pics together.. still not sure.

i would have gotten him a watch, but my parents are already giving him that at the wedding as their gift! :( so far i've narrowed it down to cuff links, cologne, shades.. hmm.

I gave him a silver Invicta watch- I got it from Sam's Club so it was not too expensive. I really liked the design of it- classy and very masculine. It ws just the right size- not too big b/c I don't really like those big hulking watches.
LOL, he didn't get me anything specifically to gift me that night.

How about an engraved money clip (Im going to get that - he doesnt like wallets and is always carrying his cards and cash around in his pocket) or you could do a personalized toiletry bag?
