did Prophet (pbuh) ever divorced?

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

I am very curious, where did you read that she was the sister of Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra) instead of his daughter? If that is correct, I should throw away some of my books!

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

Don’t worry. I think we can safely take the word of the scholars over Guppies :hehe:

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

There is no evidence at all to suggest that she was his sister and not his daughter.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

well let's wait for fungy to follow up with his evidence.. it's the first time i've heard this.. but hey, the state "Islamic History" is in.. i'd consider everything once at least before rejecting it..

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

No, I don't have any evidence. What evidence do some of these narration writers have? Other than it was told to him by his friend's uncle's second cousin's dad? At least my claim is in concurrence with the Quran that puts marriage age at maturity whereas these guys are fixed at claiming she was 6 years old.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

it's one thing doubting the story about Ayeshas age at the time of marriage, completely another to provide an alternate theory that has no grounds in any research..

yes.. some people doubt the official theory.. I do too..but for now i don't have any answers to her exact age and relationship to the Prophet.. so at best i'd refrain from spreading rumors... as it discredits the doubters of the "official" storyline.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

point well taken. I actually read it on a web site. I have asked the author for reference material as well. I will share it if he can provide any.

But why do these guys ask for evidence when their own stuff is all made on iss nay farmaya tau oos nay farmaaya...

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

What r u on FG? This is the first time anyone has ever heard that Hazrat Ayesha a.s. was Hazrat Abu Bakr's sister!

I don't know about the authenticity of this but I have heard that the Holy Prophet peace be upon him, divorced one of his wives, Hazrat Hafsa I believe. Again I have no clue how authentic that is.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

Here is a reply from the author. The research is still ongoing...

"I was hesitating to express what I've learned from the rare sources of history about the exalted Prophet's marriages - hesitating since all the detail with proper references is not possible in this short writing.

For these rare sources I am indebted to my generous readers who send me these treasures from around the world.

As a result, my conclusions (of course not etched in stone) are too revolutionary to find ready acceptance unless full details with references are given.

For example, Hazrat Ayesha was not the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr. She was his sister, widow of a martyr Saleh bin Saleh Al-'Ataib and 48 y/o at the time of marriage to the Nabi (s). [Ref. Kitab-e-Dalail-e-Nabawwut Syedna Muhammad (s) by Abdul Jabbar Qaramati, written 150 years before Tabari, and more references]

The exalted Messenger married only Hazrat Khadija, Hazrat Sauda, and after their death, Hazrat Ayesha. The rest is nothing but slanderous imagination of the Zoroastrian "Imam" Tabari and Jewish biographer Ibn Ishaq.

During the blessed times, the Central Government run with SHURA used to issue a deed of marriage to all women seeking asylum with Rasool (S) and Sahaba Karam in order to prevent slander. Please reflect on the many shades of meaning of NIKAH. This is such a brief description, I realize."

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

So Tabari is now a Zoroastrian?

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

No, he didn't divorce hafsa. Hafsa was safeguarding one of the compilations of the Quran (after the Prophet's death).

I think the idea of a divorce had come up, somewhere I read, but dunno if that's true or not. regardless, he stayed married to the ladies he committed to.

Unlike many guys these days, he knew what committment was.

She was not necessarily 6 when he married her - there are alternative theories that she was older - like past 11 or 12. There are theories that she consummated the marriage at like 15,16 or something like that. Depends on which hadith you use in your analysis. So, fact is, that the facts are up in the air.

Besides, FG, you above all people should have no problem digesting a relationship of an older man with a younger girl.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

PCG, do not communicate with me in public or private.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

:hehe:

Now now, lets not get our boxers all in a knot. :halo: :hehe:

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

actually that may not be too far from the truth.. the distortion of our religion by these ‘respected’ Persian compilers goes deep…

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

how could it have been authored 150 years before al Tabari (d. 310H) when Abdul Jabbar Qaramati is cited elsewhere on the web as having written the following in the same book, “What can be a greater argument in support of true Prophethood of the Apostle than the fact that 250 years after his passing away he is still the leading light of this world.”?

if he’s writing the book 250 years after the Prophet (saw)'s passing away that puts him around 260H… just 50 years prior to al Tabari’s death… so in fact they were likely writing around the same time since one can assume al Tabari compiled his history much before his final year

many authors correctly described Aisha as the daughter of Abu Bakr before Qaramati - assuming he actually wrote what’s being claimed here - came up with his anomalous view in what appears to be an as yet unpublished, unedited work

This is the website that fungus takes his theory from. Google is good.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

Interesting. Need some research myself.

There is no need to be upset funguy!

Your argument that if you guys can make up stories then I can too...didn't fly far until you found the above site.

I forgot the name of the book written by a muslim from India which received award from S. Arabia...i think it mentioned briefly that she was young.

I agree with PCG that her actual age at marriage is in doubt but she was definitely mature and had puberty..agreed by all.

How come the Prophet (PBUH) lift Ayesha to let her see the street show when she requested it if she was 48 years old?

Like I said we need more research on it but afterall it makes no big difference how old she was or who she was related to. What matters is that the Prophet (PBUH) loved and respected her and we owe her great respect for passing on the info as well.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

mod: can someone plz correct the spelling of 'divorced' in the title?

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

He might have lifted her cuz she is short. Does it say anywhere that later she grew to be 6 feet tall. I'm a 22 year old grown woman who is 5 feet tall - hell I need someone to lift me when I'm trying to see from behind a crowd of people of normal height.

Re: did Prophet (pbuh) ever divroced?

LOL! Good PCG!

We don't need to know that anyway...too many unnecessary questions are being discussed about religeon!
