Our dear Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.w.) "never killed an innocent person".
During the conquest of Mekkah even he gave options to the enemy to accept Islam or go to the kuffar's leader (abu sufyan)'s house and they will not be harmed.
Our Prophet's behavior is examplary. He knew where to proceed and fight and where to stop. Its so important to decide "not to kill" a person when that person is right under you but our Prophet (s.a.w.w.) never and I repeat "never" killed an innocent person.

It was due this awesome husn-e-ikhlaq (good behavior) of his that people accepted Islam in large number.

I really hope we'd learn from his excellent sunnat and be good Muslims and good humans.

your brother,
Humble.

Do you mean our dearest, nearest Prophet was a KIller? How horible!!!!!!!

First of all, let me say with all respect, that this discussion is not about moral judgement that we may feel (underlying, “may”) about Prophets. I used Prophet Mohammad as an example, but the question is pretty much applicable to any Prophet of God. It is true that many Prophets (will provide details later) killed Humans. There are two justifications for killing a Human Being (well defined in all divine revelations): One is for self-defense, and the other is in War with Disbelievers.

Prophet Mohammad is said to have killed during Wartime, and earlier Prophets killed not only in self-defense and Wartime but also on petty issues as minor differences or even at times over women. Prophet Moses killed a man with his bare fists (Old Testament).

The question arises do Prophets have the Moral Authorization and Liberty (granted by God) to decide to take a life (whatever the circumstances) of another Human Being? If so, then why?

Understanding-Islam.com has an article on this topic exactly:

http://www.understanding-islam.com/rp/p-003.htm

The key paragraph goes like this

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) never harmed any of God's creatures. He told all Muslims to treat even animals with kindness, not cut down trees etc. How can you presume that he'd hurt a human?????????

hk, Mecca didn't fall to Muhammed through any peaceful means.

Salam all,

Mecca did fall "peacefully" and Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.w.) gave the permission to kuffar-e-mecca (enemies) to either surrender or take refuge inside kuffar's leader (abusufyan, the grandfather of Yazid and father of Muavia)'s house. Our dear Prophet never harmed anyone there.

Nyahmed,
Regarding your question about why Prophets cannot kill any innocent or how would you know if it was an innocent life, here is the answer brother,
"A prophet is infallible or masoom. Infallible means one who is designated by Allah and represents Allah and that person "does NOT" commit sin. The angels are masoom (infallible) too but there ismat (infallibility) is different than Prophets.
An angel "cannot" commit a sin, that is does not have a will or power to commit a sin. A prophet or Imam is infallible too, but he "does NOT" commit a sin, meaning it has a power to commit a sin but refrains from it.
Good question though.

It's true. Our Prophet(pbuh) never killed an innocent man. He only killed in times of war.
