Did I miss the Judgement day??

:salam:

Hey Guys!

I was wondering if someone could tell me who was the 12th Khalifa and when did he died?? I came across the following Ahadith from Sahih Muslim and wondering if I missed the Judgment day.

In Sahih Muslim:

Narrated Jabir Ibn Samura:

The Prophet (SAWW) said: “The matter (life) will not end, until it is passed by twelve Caliphs.” He then whispered a sentence. I asked my father what the Prophet said. He said, the Prophet added: “All of them will be from Quraish.”

  • Sahih Muslim, English version, Chapter DCCLIV (titled: The People are subservient to the Quraish and the Caliphate is the Right of the Quraish), v3, p1009, Tradition #4477

Again from Sahih Muslim:

The Prophet (SAWW) said: “The affairs of people will continue to be conducted (well) as long as they are governed by the twelve men.”

  • Sahih Muslim, English version, Chapter DCCLIV (titled: The People are subservient to the Quraish and the Caliphate is the Right of the Quraish), v3, p1010, Tradition #4478

Again

The Prophet (SAWW) said: “Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs.”

and Again

The Prophet (SAWW) said:“The Islamic religion will continue until the Hour (day of resurrection), having twelve Caliphs for you, all of them will be from Quraish.”

This is year 2004. The day of Judgment haven’t come yet. We all Muslims are waiting for 12th Imam; Imam Al Mehdi(AS). This is a Divine Status.

Imam Mehdi will belong to the tribe of Quraish and the family of Hazrat Fatima(AS).

Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu anhu) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

"If only one day is left for the end of the world, Allah will lengthen that day until a man from my family, whose name will be the same as mine, rules the world.” (Tirmizi Shareef)

This does not reflect 'my' version of islam therefore it must be a zaeef hadith.

^Dont the words in bold mean that the calif should be among us? If yes then how?

*(I have called different Ulema about the authenticity of this hadith and the agreed that its not Dhaeef. I have asked the same question to them but what the replied was irrelevant. Would like to hear your thoughts about it.) *

  1. Unfotunately I dont have any addition of Tirmizi Shareef so I cant check the Hadith you posted above. Would you care to give any other refferences from Bukhari or Muslim? thx.

Dear 1eyed,
would you care to answer my question from 'your' version of islam?
thx.

Read THIS TOO

You should be aware that some liars have fabricated ahaadeeth about the Mahdi, and others have even claimed to be he, or that he belongs to a group other than Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah. Some of these “false mahdis” have tried to deceive the slaves of Allaah for some worldly gain and to distort the picture of Islaam. Some have started movements and revolutions and gathered those people and supporters whom they were able to deceive. Then they were destroyed, and their lies and falsehood were exposed. None of this affects the belief of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah in the Mahdi, upon whom be peace, and that he will undoubtedly appear and rule the earth in accordance with Islamic Sharee’ah. And Allaah knows best.

Ignorant of Islamic beliefs.

God will do as He sees fitting.

God decides.

Not anyone but God decides.

No one but God.

You should also be aware that some liars even claimed to be Mahdi from Ahl al - Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa;ah like Mirza Qadiyani, Muhammad Junpuri, Mahdi Sudani and Gohar Shahi. some more are expected…wait…may be Osama..to know more about him goto other thread…

Well my question was "When did the 12th caliph died?"
I found this in:

Sharra Fiqa Akbar by Mulla 'Ali Qari. The Hanafi Book of aqaid. Everything set out in this book is the aqeedah of Hanafi Sunni Muslims. According to Mulla Ali Qari 12 khalifas are as follow:

1) Abu Bakr
2) Umar
3) Uthman
4) Ali
5) Mu'awiya
6) Yazid bin Mu'awiya
7) Abdul Malik bin Marwan
8) Walid bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan
9) Sulayman bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan
10) Umar bin Abdul Aziz
11) Yazid bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan
12) Hasham bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan

Taken from Sharra Fiqa Akbar, by Mulla Ali Qari, p 176 (publishers Muhammad Saeed and son, Qur'an Muhalla)

Well if Hasham bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan was the 12th caliph then according to the above Ahadeeth the day of Resurrection is past and over. Isn'it ??

On the other side we all (Sunni and Shia) believe the "Zahoor" of Imam Mehdi (as) before the day of Resurrection. Who will be one of the Ahlul-Bayt of Rasullalah (pbuh&hf).

The Prophet (PBUH&HF) said: "al-Mahdi is one of us, the members of the household (Ahlul-Bayt)."

Sunan Ibn Majah, v2, Tradition #4085

The Prophet (PBUH&HF) said: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatimah (the Prophet's daughter).

al-Nisa'i and al-Bayhaqi, and others as quoted in:
al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p249

Abu Nadra reported: We were with the company of Jabir Ibn Abdillah... Jabir Ibn Abdillah kept quite for a while and then reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said: "There would be a Caliph in the last (period) of my Ummah who would freely give handfuls of wealth to the people without counting it." I said to Abu Nadra and Abu al-Ala: Do you mean Umar Ibn Abd al-Aziz? They said: NO, (he would be Imam Mahdi).

Sahih Muslim, English version, v4, chapter MCCV, p1508, Tradition #6961

NOTE: What are inside the parentheses in the above tradition are NOT my comments. They are the words of the translator of Sahih Muslim (Abdul Hamid Siddiqui).]

Similarly, we read in Sahih Muslim:

Abu Sa'id and Jabir Ibn Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: "There would be in the last (phase) of the time a Caliph who would distribute wealth but would not count."

2) Imam Abu Muhammad al-Hassan (al Mujtaba) (as)
3) Imam Abu Abdallah al-Hussain bin Ali (Sayyid al-Shuhada) (as)
4) Imam Abu Muhammad Ali bin al-Hussain (Zainul-'Abideen) (as)
5) Imam Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Ali (al-Baqir) (as)
6) Imam Abu Abdallah Ja'far bin Muhammad (al-Sadiq) (as)
7) Imam Abu Ibrahim Musa bin Ja'far (al-Kazim) (as)

9) Imam Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin Ali (Taqi al-Jawaad) (as)
10) Imam Abul-Hasan Ali bin Muhammad al-Hadi al-Naqi(as)
11) Imam Abu Muhammad al-Hasan bin Ali (al-Askari) (as)
12) Imam Abul-Qasim Muhammad bin al-Hasan (al-Mahdi) (as)

^should I say 12th Caliph??

Edit: Please read the whole post and ahadeath as well as the sources carefully before commenting. Thanx.
