Did I miss that in 12 years of School in Pakistan?

That is Feb 22nd for Allama Iqbal day.

I have read Iqbal my whole life. I have read others’ thesis on Iqbal in last 2 decades. I have met people who have done degrees in Iqbaliat. I have been to parties arrranged just for the work of Iqbal.

I have taken the work of Iqbal and have drunk it like Rooh Afza…

Yet I still have to come across the date of Feb 22nd and it’s relation to Iqbal.

It can be an error.

Lets do some cross checking before jumping to conclussion :)

We in Pakistan celebrate Iqbal day on 9th Nov.

I am just curious to know what does Feb 22nd mean to Iqbal day? I mean if it is an error, let it be clarified and prompt actions be taken :)

Iqbal Day is celebrated on Nov 9th in Pakistan and this is what it should reflect here.

The official Iqbal site below lists his DOB as Nov 9th, 1877

Some other sites e.g the one below give the DOB as Feb 22, 1873. They even have the year incorrect.

Someone needs to get this fixed.

Deliberate harkat hai - Abhi AQ, prove karo ke we’ve made a mistake :snooty:

Get those degree holders to GS and lets have a debate on this, unless and until you can prove us wrong, we’re sticking to this date. Or you could give us a nice (juicy) & brief history lesson, and we’ll fix the date.

I do not have to prove nothing. I do not need any degree holder for it. Please, refer to the social studies book of class 4th of Sindh Text Book Board :slight_smile:

If it was a mistake and I pointed out, accept it and correct it. If you still think it was not, then You can have your own Iqbal of your own size :slight_smile:

may be Nov 9 is birth day and Feb 22 is day he died? sometimes people memorialize you know

He died on **April 21st 1938 **in Lahore

bhai admins ka kia hai, kal quaid-e-azam day bhee 22 feb ko kar dein ge to aap or hum kia bigaaR lein ge…

anyway, admins, quoting from the same site that u have used as a proof for ur version of iqbal’s birth date:

1908-1873 = 35 and not 32 or 33 hence u can assume that the site is not very accurate…

and if u visit sites like this u will find both 1873 and 1877 mentioned as the year of his birth…
someone might have made a mistake and then long live copy/paste, the wrong information multiplied…

why dont u ppl refer to some more authentic BOOKS or ecyclopedia sites…
