i work part time in a fast food(Nandos) here in brisbane. one day this real spooky and weird looking guy comes in the shop orders some stuff and goes out to the other people sitting outside and starts preaching islam to them. this guy has clearly not combed ever since i guess he was born and he is wearnin a dirty Kandura and really creepy looks. ok neway he goes to these asian people who were taking family pictures and starts telling them that it is wrong to take pictures and stuff. and he was kinda scaring them too. the manager told me to go and talk to him so i shooo `d him away and told the family that dont listen to him and not to consider him as a muslim cause these are the kind of people who give muslims a bad name. i redifined the photo stuff to them and told them to consider that man as a drunki. now i am wonderin did i do the right thing.. even though i did say against a muslim but i think that these kinda extremists are causing these misunderstandings among the non beleivers. the way he was talking to them was like if u dont stop ill killu !..
so what do u guyzz think. did i do the right thing
I don’t think taking pictures is haraam in Islam; however, hanging them on the walls and then worshiping them is haraam. I guess you did the right thing but you could be a little bit kind to that man…
Its great to see that you atleast think and care for small deeds. "Ghore-o-fikar" is one of essentials in our religion.
I think question isn't whether Pictures are Halaal or haraam. Question is did BIB do right or wrong?
In my humble opinion based on nothing but the little common sense i have, that man might have been hurt with what you did. After letting him out, you could have tried to convey him softly about the situation and make him understand that adopting such a methodology won't accomplish anything.
i did not ask about pictures halal or haram .. i was just askin if i did the right thingy... he might have been hurt but what i think is that he was hurting the religion much more.

He might have been Brisbane.
My question to you is why you felt you had to say anything to the man? I mean, if he was obviously not threatening anyone.
If customers complained to you, you might advise the man that supper time isn't the proper time or place for a sermon.
If he was embarrassing. Don't be embarrassed. Just because the man was obviously muslim to you doesn't mean that his actions define your behavior or understanding of your beliefs.
If the man was unkept, I might have asked him if he needed some help? or if he was hungry.
Well I would certainly be annoyed if some Jehovah's Witness came around screaming to people that Jesus loves them and that they should repent otherwise they would burn in hell. However, I don't think that I would tell them to shush or anything.. maybe I'd tell him "this isn't the right time", but I wouldn't want to discourage him.
