of Indian Origin mean: he/she has indian roots, but their family migrated.
and indian…well your family still lives there, and you hold an indian nationality and you have nothing to do with Pakistan.

ps. In Pakistan, “of Indian origins” usually denoted as “Mohajirs”.

Thanks ! This is what I had guessed, but wanted to be sure.

So technically all mods here are of Indian orgin, since they were all part of India pre-1947 but no mod has been/is Indian :)

nope, we have one indian mod. and she literally belongs to india.

ps. i can see arleitter, might get a chance to mod (if he start posting some constructive discussion :p...cuz of his friendly nature). otherwise usually indian guppies dont have any good record to start with. so them being a mod is totally out of question, cuz this is a website and not some govt where minorities should be rewarded some quota seat in the parliament.
