Did Delhi live upto expectations?

Tt’s been quite an adventure over the past month for the Commonwealth Games Officials. There were doubts whether the games would happen, whether countries would participate.
There was lot of bad press, Indian media was worst in criticizing CWG.

There’s no doubt that Delhi has many lessons to learn from the Commonwealth Games experience, but isn’t that part of the point of giving the Games to a city like Delhi?

What do you’ll think? Did Delhi do a good job?

Re: Did Delhi live upto expectations?

For a 3rd world country I'd say average (-) compared to ~dozen similar events.

Re: Did Delhi live upto expectations?

the good thing is that we in India watched all the events on the tv, more people watched cwg than the ind vs aus test match, we know the opening and closing are going to be great! but the games itself where trouble free for that we got to thank little bit of Pakistan.

Re: Did Delhi live upto expectations?

Didn't register on the world scale. Which is a bad thing. Honestly CNN and BBC yesterday really questioned the CWG and India's ability to handle it.

Re: Did Delhi live upto expectations?

These games were not that bad, as it was portrayed by westerner media and teams, yes there were few blunders but the good thing was it was taken care off... these games should teach one thing to Indians... that westerners may like them as a market but would never ever want to see them as their competitor...
