A few guys I know were discussing this today and looked it up online when I got back.
I must confess to being pretty much horrified that the world’s most powerful country has as Vice-President a man who would admit to supporting the imprisonment of the world’s foremost anti-apartheid campaigner, under any circumstances whatsoever?
A man who, basically, believed that opposition to white racial superiority should not be supported because it somehow threatened the USA?
They don't call him Darth Vader for nothing.
It is not surprising.
At that time the Western bloc was doing business with South Africa's Apartheid regime because the Soviets were supporting the ANC. Also involved was Angola. The Soviets and the Cubans were supporting the left wing regime there and the South Africans helped Americans fight them through the UNITA rebels.
BTW, despite an official ban, Pakistan had a secret but substantive military relationship with the South African goras. Most of the Pakistani UAV program as well a lot of the AWC and PAC work had a lot of South African involvement, on the hush-hush.
Anyway, the official policy of most Western nations at that time was to avoid sanctioning the Pretoria regime. Cheney's views were not out of the ordinary for his time. Margaret Thatcher would not even meet Mandela after he was released.
What is it about "compassionate conservative" that makes his vote so surprising? But it is no more sanctimonious or hypocrtical than opposition to those who believe that killing those with different lifestyles should not be supported because it somehow threatens their personal "moral code".
Bush and his stooges bash Kerry and Edwards for their voting records in congress, but last night we found out about Cheney’s bad voting record on several issues. I believe media is equally responsible for it. They have exaggerated the voting records of Kerry, Edward, but no mention of those daemon Cheney’s records. How many people knew about that Nelson Mandela story before last night? Also Kerry’s campaign advisors did a pathetic job of not mentioning these records earlier in the campaign. I am afraid it’s too late now. Damage has been done. It’s a done deal. Bush gang is pretty sure that they will remain in power. These debates are nothing but political soap opera. Expect to see Bush for 4 more years in power. Not that Kerry is any better, but wait, he is better because he is lesser evil.
In the late in 1990s, I remember watching on the news that there was this black man from one of the southern African nations who was working on a biological programme for the Americans, which would kill black people only and not the white people... does anyone remember that and can someone shed a bit more light on that?

When they are that sexually prolific, it's pretty unsurprising. Black south africans have an attitude to casual sex that puts the West to shame.

Hmmm! The only thing fishy here is that the "fish" swims without the "skin". Man! People need to use protection or abstinence and the problem of AIDS will mostly disappear. The ones left will be largely the druggies and their offspring.

It is not a problem in SA, many other African and Asian countries are in much worse situation. Baha-Rat and Thailand are good examples. There is no "white-man" responsible for creating black-specific diseases in Asian countries.
Sub-Saharan countries are among the worst hit. What kind of theory these Commie-Leftie-Agent(s) would you use to explain that epidemic?

AIDS must have sprung from the same hindu/zionist/neo-con alliance that is behind the recent sectarian bombings in Pak eh AS? Instead of looking for more conspiracy theories, why don't you ask your muslim arab brethren in the Sudan to stop killing and raping anyone with black skin, regardless of their religious affiliation.
