Rice cereal to his milk? I asked ped about rice and she said the recommendation has now changed to 6 months for food. Otherwise I was ready to start feeding him. I think he might be ready too.

Lusi, the ped said it looks viral and something he has to just get through. Its just that this diarrhea is making his face so utra huwa and obviously he loses water.

When you said add cereal to his milk…how much do you suggest in a bottle? Like how much cereal would you add in let’s say 4 ounces>

I use the milk scoop that comes with formula. 1/4-1/2 of that scoop in 4oz.

Different doctors have different views about when to start solids. In MN, we were told to wait 6 months. Here in GA, we were told we can start at 4 months. They eat very little initially. So. You can try with 1/4 or 1/5 of banana mashed.

I don’t think he will like mashed rice at 4 months…try the cereal. I always make cereal in milk so they get some milk through it as well.

I don’t know what is baby rice, I just use Gerber’s fortified rice cereal.
