Yeah so its been over two weeks now with the diarrhea.
No fever and no vomiting.
Severe diaper rash as a result of the diarrhea though.
His appetite seems fine…I took him into his ped so she could check if he’s dehydrated and he’s not. I’ve been giving him Infant Pedialyte between feedings.
Yesterday my mom gave him sabudana ka paani in a dropper.
Yeah, you can add rice cereal to his milk. When my kids had that kind of diarrhea, I would make their milk in the ilaichi water. It helped too. Use the diaper rash cream every time you change. Try to wash instead of using the wipe.
Is it a viral? What is the cause?
At 4 months you can introduce bananas and rice to baby's diet...That helps a lot with diarrhea

Rice cereal to his milk? I asked ped about rice and she said the recommendation has now changed to 6 months for food. Otherwise I was ready to start feeding him. I think he might be ready too.
Lusi, the ped said it looks viral and something he has to just get through. Its just that this diarrhea is making his face so utra huwa and obviously he loses water.
When you said add cereal to his milk...how much do you suggest in a bottle? Like how much cereal would you add in let's say 4 ounces>
Baby rice is the best way to go, but you should never add it to a bottle, it can cause the baby to choke, try mixing it with a little milk and feed him with a spoon. I started my 2 at 4.5 months.

I use the milk scoop that comes with formula. 1/4-1/2 of that scoop in 4oz.
Different doctors have different views about when to start solids. In MN, we were told to wait 6 months. Here in GA, we were told we can start at 4 months. They eat very little initially. So. You can try with 1/4 or 1/5 of banana mashed.
I don't think he will like mashed rice at 4 months...try the cereal. I always make cereal in milk so they get some milk through it as well.
I don't know what is baby rice, I just use Gerber's fortified rice cereal.
I was told not to add it to the bottle but to spoon feed it and make with a little formula or breast milk. Also not to start till 6 months but that depends on his growth and where he's at on the charts. Mind you, rice can cause constipation so don't overdo it. And use Boudreaux's Butt Paste on the rash. It's the best cream. Literally treats the rash in two uses.
