my doc said its good for skin and hair, makes hair appear thicker and skin in really good condition, but weight gain is minimum and is also a good contraceptive.

Dianette is given to those who have acne and it helps clear the skin, so yh it should help. i use dianette bt mashallah ive always had clear skin so ive not noticed any changes in skin my hair doesnt fall out anymore and i havent gained weight while on it.

Nadz, everyone reacts differently to drugs. Diane 35 is supposed to help with severe acne. That being said....I just spent 10 minutes doing some rapid reading on Diane 35. Its seems quite controversial. From the little I read....it looks like FDA in the U.S. hasn't even approved it so far. In Canada, using this as a birth control drug is legally considered off-label use (ie. legally, this is not supposed to be used as birth control there....its meant for severe acne when no other oral meds have helped control it). Not sure what's going on in Europe regarding this. I also glanced at some forums where women wrote they LOST hair once they started using Diane 35 or stopped using it.
This seems to have more side effects compared to other BCP's. And call me crazy but when it comes to birth control (ie. pills that'll mess with my hormones).....personally I'd be VERY careful on using something that's not even approved in the U.S.
I've been using Ortho Tri Cyclen (I've used both the brand name and generic version) for almost 10 years. No issues with weight gain. This has also been proven to help with acne.
I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who do use Diane 35 with no issues. Just please do your research and make an informed decision.

thats the problem. its confusing. diane 35, i just saw on the box is made in germany. my doc here prescribed it to me. its not made in pakistan…

The third generation ones are good. I was prescribed Meliane but it gave me terrible migraines so what works for one would not work for someone else

I used Diane 35 for 6 months..no side effects at all. I used it for acne. I didn't gained any weight.
