Diamond prices

Does anyone know anything about diamonds?

How much would you pay for a .75 Ct ‘rare white grade G’ solitaire set in an 18 Ct white gold band?

I dunno abt Ct 'rare shtrare but few months back i asked for a good quality diamond in a platinium band (which is more expensive than white gold i was told :bummer: ) and it was estimated for around RS 13,000/- ub patta nahi that sounds heap no??? :konfused:

^^ isn't platinum white gold??

Nahi :p

Applying FOUR C's of Diamond to your query:

Color : G (near colorless)
Clarity: ?
Cut: ?
Carat: 0.75

I need to know clarity factor and cut shape to really give you an estimate.

Phooey - G is a good color, normally people buy H- J so you'd have to pay more for G. Is it VVS1 (very very small defect numbering 1)? That makes it close to flawless. There is no fixed price for diamonds but a one carat diamond is around USD3000-3500 for that quality, what with the depressed market. A .75 should be between USD1000-1500, add another 200 bucks for gold band and making at max. But honestly speaking I am not sure for that size.

If you live in HK there are many reliable sources for diamonds. Reliability is more important than price, as nowadays people are selling mezzonite as diamond.

VVS1,

Round shape,

not sure about cut what's it measured in?

It's actually .87 Ct with another .28 encrusted in the band.

We’re probably talking a few points here, somwhere nearer .2 Ct.

It won't cost you less than around $2500 but I'm not sure what exactly will it cost...Prices of diamonds usually differ from stores to stores. Some stores will charge double amount...

PLATINUM diamond band in JUST RS. 13,000? :–O

I've been offered $2100 as part of an upgrade does this sound good?

r u buyin or sellin?

Well the place I bought the ring from orig was certified for an upgrade at any branch. So part exchanging for more Ct.

It's okay I've found the certificate of purchase :D !! and by the looks of it I'm getting a good deal.

Ta very much Karina and the rest.

Phooey - I think so too, that you're getting a good price. It seems a little overpriced but I'm guessing you must have brought it at some upmarket place like Larry's or Tse sui Luen. Care to share the name of the place? What did they cut, 15% off original price? I'm curious. :)

it's not about the diamond it's about platinum...even if it's a half ct diamond you will still find the ring more expensive because platinum is just PERFECT as it holds a diamond more securely. I work in a diamond jewelry store and I have NEVER seen platinum jewelry brought for repairs. It's always gold diamond rings that need repairs. Plus platinum is more durable, hard and less likely to get scratches. So remember when you're paying a high price for a platinum diamond ring, you're paying more because of the platinum not the diamond! :D

Acha na :bummer: but he told that price I didn’t make it up :frowning: It must be the size of the ring then

So platinium comes in different qualities too? or its same every where? :konfused:
