Re: Diabetic women?
Well doc told me if i want to get pregnant, I have to switch to Insulin, instead of taking pills like I normally do..
anyone know wat i’m talking abt? is it difficiult to do switch??
Re: Diabetic women?
it means u hav very high sugar level that pills alone won't control.i dunno i its difficult or not coz its mostly insulin shots given on regular basis.during pg body goes thru many changes n sometimes the level can reach seriously high. Also if u r planning n not already pg u should start controlling ur sugar level atleast 3 months prior to pg coz sometimes damage 2 fetus is caused at very early stage even b4 u know u r expecting.ask ur doc to send u to special diabetic care dept get a diet chart.excercise is a must.kuch log pills n shot lay laitay hain n r careless abt excercise n diet but these things alone don't help.its just a tough commitment but Insallah things will b fine for ya.
Re: Diabetic women?
OMg that is so scary!
My sugar levels are OK, they’re not very high , but they’re not low either..Is there any link to high sugar and miscarriages?
Re: Diabetic women?
yes it is linked to miscarriages n deformations.n no i don't wanna scare u.just b very careful n diabetic moms do hav healthy babies too so don't worry.
Re: Diabetic women?
many women develop diabetes during pregnancy and end up with very healthy babies, you needn't worry, but I guess you should take up the docs advice if you are planning for a baby. I can imagine how terrifying needles are but at the end of the day its for you and your baby's health. If you don't feel so sure ask another doc for a second opinion, might help to put your mind at rest.
Re: Diabetic women?
The reason doctor is telling you to switch to insulin is bcoz the safety of tablets (oral hypoglycemic agents) is not established in pregnancy. Therefore, you should switch regardless of your sugar levels. And during pregnancy you need to keep the sugar under more tight control.
Switching is not difficult, you can easily learn to inject uself.

Re: Diabetic women?
posted before: Both my parents have diabetes and lately they've been drinking a home made drink that has controlled their diabetes
You should drink 2 glasses a day
1/2 cucumber
1/2 bittermelon
1/2 apple
2 sticks of celery
1/2 red pepper
mix it to make a juice
**Even if you do not have diabetes, this drink is very healthy for you any ways.
Take care
