In type 1 diabetes, symptoms tend to develop rapidly over a couple of weeks, and are more severe. In type 2 diabetes, symptoms develop slowly and are usually milder.
Common symptoms of both types of diabetes are:
•Increased thirst
•Passing water frequently, especially at night
•Tiredness and fatigue
•Loss of weight
•Genital itching or recurrent thrush
In type 1 diabetes, less common symptoms are:
•Cramps
•Constipation
•Blurred vision
•Recurrent skin infections
In type 2 diabetes, symptoms may go unnoticed for years - only when complications of diabetes, such as foot ulceration or blurred vision, occur is diabetes diagnosed. Remember, all the symptoms may not be present. Whenever any of these symptoms arise, it’s important to be tested for diabetes.
Do you guys actually get worried if any or a few of these things happen in day to day life?
I do .. some days when i feel overly thirsty , I get worried but then when it subsides afer a while i realize perhaps I was dehydrated ... its always good to keep an eye though ..
I do. My blood sugar is also in the high end since some time now due to my TSH levels. At times I have blurry vision, so I cant help thinking about Diabetes :(
Sodas and multiple cups of high sugar Chai's have increased this disease in desi community...

STOP drinking poison called Soda/Coke/Pepsi and other energy drinks to start fixing things for you (maybe too late) but your kids and younger generation.
I know a few people who go through 6-12 CANS of soda in 24 hours... sickness.

My dad has diabetes and since his diagnosis my family has become really careful.
My dad has tea but with little or no artificial sweetener. Usually he will have two cups a day. My mom only one in the morning. Low salt, low spice, low oil, etc etc etc.
I do suspect sometimes that I might get it (some weird 6th sense tells me) which is why I've been trying to change my habits now. I try to workout more, eat better, make healthier choices and just take care of myself more.
My praaablam is, that I have a very sweet tooth. I don’t drink Coke or any fizzy drinks for that matter, but I am always worried since I can’t give up chocolate/cakes etc etc. Any advice?
