I'm sure they will make mess of it. BTW, this is not the first time, they are using our concepts. Ekta Kapoor's plays based on large families always remind us Bajiya's serials.

they tried it before( scene by scene copy) , it was a HUGE disaster !!!!

I doubt it !!!

Huge family set up has been part of then Indian culture since god knows when !!! Its not a recent phenomenon.

i doubt it that they will be able to make it any better or on the same level. the original was a classic and too great.

i am thinking it will be like dil mil gaye, sanjeevni type.

Yeah 100% is going to be dil mil gaye type soap …

The beauty of Dhoop kinare was in its dialogue and writing , I doubt india will be able to copy that … they will fill it all up with glamour and fake dialogues

No need to worry - with the addition of excessive masala, glamour and overacting, it will be completely different to the original.

However, its nice to seem them openly referring to Dhoop Kinare as their source of inspiration - usually people lift without a single mention of the original.

But when you look at the initial dramas of Star / Zee TV they were mostly based on extra-marital affairs. I was talking about what was being depicted on indian media rathar than what is the culture of Indo-Pak. Even today Indian and to some extent Pakistani channels are showing atmosphere, which is not the representative of our societies.

you have no idea star/zee tv won't have more then 25-30 percent of total viewership in india
every state has it's own regional channels with thier language(bengali,marathi,gujarati,punjabi,bhojpuri,tamil,telugu,kannada,malayalam,assamese,oriya e.t.c)
they have thier own soaps

Lols, but the drama we are discussing is going to be telecasted from one of satellite channels which also attract some viewership outside India and its a fact that there was a time when star plus dramas were being crazily followed on both sides of the border. In Pakistan, thanks to our channels like Hum Tv, ARY, etc Pakistani drama standard is again getting better day by day and again attracted the audience which was behind Star plus never ending loud soaps.
