dhoodh vs lassi

Is there a difference in health benefits, chemical compounds? My grandmother insists that on a hot day a lassi works better than simple milk to cool down the head. Is that true?

Re: dhoodh vs lassi

nope…it’s all in the head…!!!

Lassi works better than milk in cold weather.
I love lassi and when we goto our village we drink a lot.:smiley:

Re: dhoodh vs lassi

I have heard that lassi helps the body remain hydrated specially in the summers. That is the reason why people working in the fields in Pakistan enjoy lassi every so often.

Milk is heavy and is an over all complete diet.

But thinned out milk, ( when water is added to it , along with salt ) can actually be a source of good water intake plus some important salts.

Also in Pakistan, they say that after eating loads of mangoes, one must have some “kachi lassi” I believe mangoes have hot taseer and lassi acts as a coolant for the body :hmmm:

If lassi is made with yoghurt that is so much better then the milk itself in summers.

lassi = ORS :hehe:

:lifey: true lol

Re: dhoodh vs lassi

can someone share how to make a good lassi?

Re: dhoodh vs lassi

Easy peesy :slight_smile:

In a blender, pour half cup yoghurt and half cup water or milk. Add in sugar to taste and give it a good whirl. Lassi is ready !

Another way is to add half milk and half water and add salt and ice cubes , a good whirl and makes an awesome tasting kachi lassi
