dhood wali sawiyan

Please post a recipe for 1 packet.
Exact Quantities thanks!

And even the dry form of sawiyan. I’d like to make both for Eid

Re: dhood wali sawiyan

Just what I wanted to ask lol.

I am going to use this recipe, minus condensed milk replacing with sugar.
Sawaiyan-

Re: dhood wali sawiyan

Depends on the size of the the packet .. but here's an easy recipe

Two tablespoons oil in a pan, heat it up , add in slightly crushed cardamom about 4-5 and immediately add the siwiya , keep the heat low so siwiya dont burn out .. stir it like you are bhooning it .. about 3-4 minutes later add in milk . Quantity of the milk should be enough to cover the siwiya + additional 3 cups .. bring the heat to medium high and wait until the milk starts boiling .. now add in the dry nuts of your choice , dont forget to chop them up fine ..
Also add 3 more crushed cardamom ..

add some dry dates chopped up as well. Now cover the pot and let it all boil until you notice the milk starting to thicken up .. this will happen almost 20 minutes after the first boil .. now add the sugar to taste .. I like to keep sugar low hence only add upto half cup sugar but you can adjust that to your taste ..

If you have condensed milk, add it too , or else add half cup thick double cream ( optional)

cover the pot and lower the heat and wait for 5-10 minutes so that the milk thickens up a bit more and the sugar granules melt fully.
Siwiya are ready ...

Thanks CB it's the regular national's packet.
If we add dates, nuts n stuff won't it be sheer khurma?
I want to make the sawiyan with lots of milk, thin form.

Re: dhood wali sawiyan

Ok done making and had to add some light cream since didn't have enough regular milk. What I am planning to do is add more milk while warming them tomorrow morning. These are served hot right?

Re: dhood wali sawiyan

Just read the recipe again, it says serve hot or cold. Problem solved.

dhood wali sawiyan

I have evaporated milk can I use that?

Re: dhood wali sawiyan

Did u bhoonify sawaiyan first?

Re: dhood wali sawiyan

Yeap. Evaporated milk, half n half, heavy cream, light cream, use whatever you have.

Nope skipped that part, you can if you want to. That's how I usually make sawaiyan by frying em in oil first but wanted something a little different this year.

Re: dhood wali sawiyan

just got done making doodh sawiyan...they look good....

i have used butger to bhoonafy thesawiyan, once they are brown, add milk, cardimon (spell), crushed almondsand pstachos. let it cook for almost 30 mins, then addsugar, cook for another 15 mins and your sawiyan are ready.i used almost 1 cup of sawiyan, and almost 5 cups of whole milk, almost 2 tbsp of butter and i think almost 3/4 cup of sugar.

Re: dhood wali sawiyan
