That doesn't sound very prudent. A keeper's job is to keep in at least test cricket. Why would World's best batting line-up need another batsman at number 7?
Yes hes not the most agile of people, even when the commentators were saying "ahhh that ball was dying down on him and he still managed to catch it"
well it was a pure fluke, nothing more, anyone can see that he did not go forward in any of the instances where the ball was dying on him, instead he just stands there and hopes the ball makes it to his gloves
not very good personally....you need someone quick, agile, fast like Kamran Akmal

no india have not got the best batting line up in the world. They are having trouble finding a wicket keeper which can also bat well
My intent was not to compare Dhoni with Kamran. Kamran is no benchmark for test keeping, in my opinion. However, Kamran has a mouthwatering average of stumpings and catches in his 20 testsbut still has a long way to go. But I don't get a good keeper feeling when I see Dhoni collect the balls.
Dhoni's prime skill is his devestating batting which paves way for his inclusion in test team because no doubt that his batting takes Indian lower order to a new level. Having said that, his keeping definately lacks the naturality that keeper oozes. The likes of Rashid Latif, Ian Healy, Dujon they all looked natural keepers and were absolutely fantastic. Dhoni cannot look a natural keeper but he needs to work on his agility and shape (that will improve reflexes and buttered fingers) than he can come close to test standard. Till then, he can score hundred and keep his place in the team.
I didnot want to compare Akmal him with Akmal. My point was that his missing chances last evening was no different than Akmal missing chances day before. That was just one bad day. He didnot missed many in other test matches.
He may not be as eligent as other big names but he is doing an ok job.
i think his keeping and batting is alright...
he and akmal are the find of a decade for pakistan and india.
but if u were to compare akmal to dhoni ... akmal is way way better than dhoni in stroke selections and his coverdrives and slashes ... just brilliantly awsome .
Yeah Dhoni is sometimes very sad in keeping...but India is just so glad to find a wicketkeeper who can actually"Bat" and that to at a fair clip.....that they really do not mind neglecting a few misses here and there.....
But, I m sure if he keeps making these mistakes he will be pulled up and probably be challenged to keep his position atleast in the test level.
As far as Akmal goes, there is absolutely no doubt that he is a fabulous keeper and has a much better technique than Dhoni......but you really dont need that great a technique to score runs even at the test level as our good old Sehwag will tell you....
