Hi… I’m hosting a dholki for my friend’s wedding. I’ve already got the decor, music, and food planned out, but I was hoping you could suggest some ideas to make the event more fun and less typical. There are going to be a few other dholki’s as well, so I’d like mine to be a bit different and not just the usual song and dance. It’ll mostly be singing since most of the girls won’t dance. Maybe we can play some games? Do any of you have any ideas of things I can do to make it more interesting? It’s a ladies only event.

How about a twist on the toilet paper bridal dress, but instead of a white dress, the girls make a lengha? You can even give them some loose fabric or accessories to work with.

what is the theme of the dholki. perhaps you can keep some fun, unique theme as compared to the typical ones.
if most girls wont dance, try playing sticks(Dandiyaan) or do a ludi.
for games, the most fun game played at wedding functions is a couple game of which couple knows each other best.
you can modify this game and have a series of questions asked to your other friends about the friend who is getting married. the friend who give more answers correctly wins.
keep nice theme made thank you cards at the end of the dholki.
