Hey guys, okay so my dholki seasons are starting! I know the dholki is just a basic party where all the women come together and sing and dance,

but what should i wear?! i want to wear something different (desi clothes), anyone have any ideas? do i put the dupatta on my head?

Unique ways of decorting for a dholki? tips?

Do you have a theme or a colour in mind for the party? I think we had quite a few dholkis in the past - a pink one, a Hawaiian one. So the decor and clothes would be set accordingly.

I would be a good idea to wear colours that you are not going to wear for your other events - Mayon, Mehndi, Shaadi and Valima. I would advise you to keep the outfits semi formal but you can dress up if you like. Please don’t do any kind of heavy jewelery.

Dupatta can be off or on depending upon the crowd. You can opt for anything that you feel would look suitable at the moment.

Well for my upcoming dholki i m wearing this style and the same color comb:

My cousin is having the dholki for me and once we saw the outfit…she decided to go with a bright pink, yellow, orange and blues for decorations as well :slight_smile: iA will post pictures afterwards.

That is a lovely combo! I think that outfit stands out so much because of the blue. I wuld love to see the decor, rabia. :)

thanks! would it be not good to wear red to the dholki? should i save that color just for my wedding day?

Also, are anarkali's even in fashion anymore?

im going red and blue and green on my mehendi!...no red for shaadi
