I had no knowledge about Sindhis and Sindhi culture, my biggest interaction with Sindhis was during the training in the company in which I used to work for. It was a big company, and the training was around 7 months, so all good. That was the first time I met Pakistani hindus as well, very good experience, all ethnicities in the same training center/hostels.
Yes work as a team here on GS :)
Another reason you don't see Sindhi in other provinces is availability of opportunities in their own province. Most of the Sindhi prefer to be in Karachi rather than in Lahore, Islamabad, etc. Some of my Sindhi fiends studied at NCA and LUMS Lahore.
^ ok, during my undergraduate studies I have studied with Pashtuns, Gilgitis/Kashmiris, Urdu speaking people from Karachi, heck even Afghans, Nepalis and Srilankans but no Sindhi. I have to give it to the Pakistani Pashtuns and Afghans, they have made their own place in Punjab's (in fact Pakistan's) social fabric. During the past few years the immigration towards Punjab has increased, and with the improvement of economic climate there the province can run the country (good leadership is required), and that would mean opportunities for every one. The problem with the globalization is that people will have to come forward and get/snatch their rights.

Such migration will make it easy for punjabis to migrate to other states.....
I think multi-ethnic cities and societies are pillar of multi-ethnic nation.....
My father's best buddy is a sindhi from his college days

I know, all the countries like Australia, Newzealand, Canada, US etc are multiethnic countries and they have used this as a strength to develop themselves. As far as Pakistan and India is concerned they are already quite diverse, which in effect is our strength if we utilize it and if we dont harness it properly, it can serve as a damaging (deteriorating) factor.
^any topic that I try to find, having some cultural connotation (using google uncle). Lo and behold, some thread opened by the one and only (Muqawee). :D
Well moving to other areas, in fact increases the wealth of those areas. e.g people of Mirpur Azad Kashmir had to move to UK after Mangla Dam. And now due to the remittances they have sent back Mirpur has developed a lot, with big shopping malls that not many other Pakistani cities have.
Well since Pandits moved out of Indian Kashmir, the education standard went downhill, many pundas used to teach in madrassas, including my husband's paternal grandparents, now I doubt if they have such education there any more:)
lol. since you guys migrate so much the void is filled by bhaiyas. soon it will be called punjab pradesh :D
PS. didnt gujrat and hryana leave you guys behind?
We migrated little too much, we must be labelled as international bhaiyyas:D
Haryana.No. Gujarat has modi so it is probable that in past ten years they would have moved faster, we don't have such development engine, we have badal that hardly rains anything:D
Punjabis (especially Sardars) are every where, especially in UK, Canada and Australia although their proportion in terms of total population of India is very small.
Even punjabi hindus also migrate in same pattern, there is no social difference in both except hindus hold more industries in punjab and sikh are more of high class farmer:)
^ Indian Punjab Hindus would also be abroad, but the sardars are easy to spot. Kashmiris are in big numbers in pakistani Punjab too especially gujranwala, Lahore and Sialkot. In Pakistan we call them butt sb (not the other one ) which is basically the pronunciation of bhatt. Nawaz sharif is one of those.
^ he is a Kashmiri, hence most of the top notch in PMLN like Ishaq Dar, the guy who won from my constituency was Sohail Zia Butt (who is also his relative). There's a strong Kashmiri community in Lahore.
Kashmiri Shaikh (Urdu: کشمیری شيخ ) mainly live in Kashmir regions of Pakistan and India. The Kahmiri Shaikhs are considered to be a clan of Punjabi Muslims of Kashmiri origin found predominantly in PakistanPunjab and also in India.
After the advent of Islam into Afghanistan and South Asia, a significant number of HinduBrahmins converted to Islam and adopted the title of Shaikh. The largely belonged to Kaul,Bhatt or Sapru clans. In Punjab, they are known as Kashmiri Shaikh. The Kashmiri Shaikhs are mostly urban and do not practice agriculture.
Kashmiri Shaikh’s of Kotli are living in the Sarhota and Karthoth region of Kotli. They have been settled there for many years, currently some people of the Sarhota/Karthoth area are known as Butt, but they are all descendants of the Shaikh tribe regardless of the fact that they call themselves Butt etc. today.

“
'According to the census return the number of Kashmiri Musulmans, who make up 60% of the inhabitants of the Jhelum valley, was 765,442. They are no doubt mostly descendants of various Hindu castes, perhaps in the main of Hill Brahmans , but Islam has wiped out all tribal distinctions.[SUP][1]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashmiri_Shaikh#cite_note-0)[/SUP]
”
^ didnt know about that... :) haayay meri angoothian...
BTW, Kashmiri people had to migrate in Lahore and other areas of Punjab due to cruelties of Kashmiri rulers. They were locally called 'Hatoo' and were used as cheap labor in Punjab. Some Hatoos were given meal for a time for working all the day. Many Kashmiris died due to severe weather on their way from Kashmir to Punjab. But now you can see that they have progressed in Punjab and are in good condition.
