dhara

Sometimes when I’m falling asleep I feel like I’m being held down by someone or something and no matter how hard I try I cant move or cry out. Its really scary. You try to shout but no sound comes out. Ive heard that its called a dhara/tara. You have to recite the ayat ulkursi. Of course you have to say it in your mind cos you cant speak. and its such a relief when its over. I used to experience that a lot almost every week but now its quite rare. Does anyone else get it, and can you explain it?

 I thought i was the only one

what is dhara/tara  is it some kind of disease? or is it normal:(???

it’s so scary when it happens to me :frowning:

Thats what im asking!

I want to know too :frowning:

Irregular heart beat. Get your heart checked. And don't let the "I am too young to have a heart diease" fool you.

I've had that too.

I've had that during sleep. Not while falling asleep.

sleep paralysis ??

It is not harmful, although most people report feeling very afraid because they do not know what is happening, and within minutes they gradually or abruptly are able to move again; the episode is often terminated by a sound or a touch on the body.<<<

:bummer: thanks

I've felt a presence in the room-Hag phenomena.
i went on to read about hag phenomena and was asked to fill in a detailed survey but after a few questions it got scary so I left it there.
Spooky.

many of us experience this.. some kinda sleep paralysis. The mind is awake but body isn't. Body doesn't respond to the mind.

It is kinda scary. And while this happens, out of fear one tends to have nightmares of sinking in water.. unable to do anything, of being followed by a killer and falling down and unable to get up etc.

feels awful.Or when you feel as if somebody picked you up and dropped you back on your bed.

^ yeah the sudden loss of control without loss of consciousness can be quite unnerving :-/

There was a similar thread in religion forum a while back. You might want to check it out

Oks this is scary! I had this happen to me once.

We lived in large house with too many bedrooms and creepy shadows in Lahore and I was the only one who slept up stairs..

I came home one afternoon from school and lay down on my bed. Just as I was begining to fall asleep it felt like someone had come out of nowhere and stood right above me and pushed me really hard into bed!?

I don't think it was an irregular heartbeat!

I was so scared I stayed perfect still and did not make a sound or open my eyes for several minutes.. and I know that fear certainly had me paralyzed for a few min.

I was 18 at the time so I definitely did not imagine this!

I am unable to relate the two threads… can u please, explain what are u exactly refering to  ?
